Watercolor paintings are life lasting. Many have lasted hundreds of years. What gernerations thought years ago is no longer true.
My paintings are painted on archival safe, acid-free, chlorine-free watercolor paper, with 100% cotton fibers. My paintings are "140 lbs. weight," unless otherwise noted. If weight doesn't appear in description, it is 140 lbs.
To frame: professionally is what I recommend. The weight of 140 lbs. is used so that a framer can mount the piece with ease. Lighter paper than 140 lbs results in paper buckling when glue is applied to mount.
To care for you watercolor painting (or any oils you own or purchase), keep all paintings out of direct sunlight. Also, when framing, best to use non-reflective glass. When matting, use archival safe material or it will tarnish (yellow) the paper within a few years.
If you purchase from me: you may email me with questions concerning care for your painting or information regarding my work as artist. -- Thank you.
