Thank you so much for the wonderful service and quick delivery on this beautiful mother of pearl necklace. It arrived exactly on my birthday, which was perfect, since I had purchased this as a birthday gift to myself. I will update with a photo soon. Aloha

Natural tapa cloth complete costume

I am a artist with the passion for Polynesian dance culture and costumes!

I have a great passion for art, Polynesian dance and culture and found my passion grow in the costume making over the years. I knew by the age of 12, when I started learning Polynesian dance, that this is what I wanted to do for life. I ended up dancing with various groups and by my 20s traveled the world as a professional hula dancer on cruise ships and also danced for Tiki Village in Moorea, French Polynesia and most recently for Hura Tahiti Nui in the Heiva I Tahiti in July 2014. I learned the art and craft of Tahitian costume making from various teachers from Samoa, Hawaii, New Zealand, Cook Islands and Tahiti. I lived and worked as a dancer in Tahiti and that is where my craft began to really grow starting more than 10 years ago. I also used to be the director of a small dance company in California and had a lot of practice for over 10 years making costumes for my dancers. I was always a perfectionist when it came to costumes and always loved too see the costumes in action once the dancer would where them.
Since January 2015, I've had the honor of creating costumes for the upcoming Disney animated film "Moana", and working as a consultant on culture, costumes and dance.
Many people told me that I should have my costumes on Etsy and now I am here and very happy and grateful to be a part of the Etsy team of artists! I am now creating costumes for dancers all over the world including Japan, Europe, America, Mexico, etc..It's a great feeling to know that my designs are being worn by people in other countries. I am a very hard worker, love what I do and love to be creative. I am always open to new ideas when clients ask. I love when I client says, "Can you just create something for me in these colors and I trust what you will make"! That is a trust that I really appreciate, because they know that whatever I make, is going to be beautiful. I love to make the world more beautiful. Thank you everyone for your support in my creative arts! Keep dancing and inspiring others!! Aloha, Rika

You can pay with credit card or PayPal right on the site for your convenience! There are no refunds. Once a costume is made according to detailed specifics from the client with clear and concise communication, fees will be added if any changes or alterations are made upon the request by the client and agreed by the artist. There are no added fees when a commission is requested, as long as there are no changes to a costume listing. If a client wants to add more materials, they will have to pay for the cost difference according to the time and material cost. and any other charges associated to their request and changes. Sales tax is added to each item in California and the client is responsible for shipping and handling fees also. A costume job will be finished according to how many costumes need to be made, detail, time to aquire any materials either by the time it takes to drive or ordered online. Costume commissions can take anywhere from 2 week-6 weeks to finish depending on volume, intricacy and how many other orders I have at the time, so it's good to inbox me for an estimate, especially if you need a costume by a certain date. I will specifically communicate with the client about the time budget and will do my best to finish a job by or before promised.
Shipping is USPS Priority ground or Express mail with tracking and insurance, but let me know if you want it faster and the price will vary. Weight and dimensions are also should be put into consideration. After costume is made, delivery will take 3-10 days depending on where you are. If you need 2-3 days, request Express but charges may apply. I usually use Priority and that takes a few days in the US and up to 10 days international.
