I loved my purchase in black so much that I purchased the pink one as a gift for a friend.

I so love this bracelet. I wear it with my own medical alert tag and it is perfect. I have already ordered another in pink!

LOVE the bracelet, wonderful seller. Love that it doesn't look like a medical id bracelet. Already recommended to family/friends on facebook :)

Perfect for my daughter. Sturdy enough for a teenager; pretty enough to be worn with everything in her wardrobe!!

Love the black & white colors
Passionate people embrace what they love and never let it go. Those who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those of us who are doing it.
My shop all started because of a search for affordable and attractive medical ID replacement bands. Having to wear a medical ID bracelet for my own health reasons, I was searching for more attractive alternatives to the standard steel chain bands that come attached to the tags. I became rather disappointed that most of the sites that sold these products charged anywhere from $60-$100, and sometimes even more! To me, it seemed excessive. The ID tags alone are already quite pricey. Anyone requiring such a bracelet likely has medication they have to take on a daily basis-- many of us take a plethora of meds daily-- and having to spend that much money on something to make us feel slightly less reluctant about wearing a lifesaving piece of jewelry just seems a bit opportunistic and wrong. The idea of PWNY Beads was born!
I try to keep the prices on all of my items affordable and reasonable. The prices are all based on the types and amounts of materials used in each piece. The fact of the matter is that I absolutely love making each piece. I love sitting down with all the colorful gemstones, crystals, pearls, fire-polished glass bicones, druks, lampworked glass beads, Millefioris, fiber optics, and other beads spread out in front of me and playing with the colors and textures to see what works. Better still is the process of making each piece, seeing my design and vision come to fruition in front of me as a medical ID bracelet, a pair of earrings, an anklet, a fashion bracelet... It's an amazing feeling to sit there and hold something you just designed, created, and completed. It's hard for me to put a price on any of these pieces, because it's just so much fun, and so incredible to be able to spend my days doing this.
PWNY Beads is my job. It's my only job. And I'm so lucky to have one that I absolutely love! I was diagnosed with narcolepsy with cataplexy in November of 2011, after dealing with strange and difficult symptoms for 25 years. Even with treatment, the condition causes excessive daytime sleepiness (even to the point of falling asleep in the middle of normal tasks, without warning), cataplexy (where, in response to emotions like surprise, laughter, fear, anger, or sadness, I can collapse to the floor in a state of temporary paralysis until the episode passes), and strange phenomenon that occur while falling asleep, sleeping, or waking up from sleep. This makes it exceedingly difficult to work a typical job, as most bosses frown on napping during work. I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to do something that helps others, makes me happy, and is conducive to keeping my own health in as much order as possible.
What started out as a hobby has become a passion for me! I'm constantly trying out new materials, textures, shapes, and sizes in my work. I love the thrill of getting a new shipment of supplies and working through the ideas of how to turn them into beautiful, unique creations. Recently, I've begun trying my hand at beaded crochet, trying to expand my abilities to even more options than I currently have! I can't wait to see what happens next!

*** New Customer Referral Program ***
For any previous buyer who refers a new buyer, you can get credit towards earning free items from my shop! Here's how it works:
Once you've made a purchase from my shop, you're already eligible to start earning referral credit. Simply refer a friend or loved one who makes a purchase and make sure they put "Referred by" with the Etsy handle you used to place your order in the "Notes to Seller" section at checkout. Whatever their total order was, minus the shipping cost, will be added to your referral credits. Once you reach $50 in referral credits, you will be notified, and can choose any single item you want from my shop, priced $50 or less. Or, if you prefer, you can receive a 25% off discount code good for one order of any amount (excluding shipping costs). Bear in mind that you will have to pay for the shipping of the free item, but again-- it can be any item listed for under $50! Then your referral credits start over, and you can start earning more free items.
Orders that you place can not go toward your referral credit. I will keep track of every customer's referral credit, even at a $0 balance, on a spreadsheet. I will notify you of your accrued referral credit at any time that you request it, but will not notify you of the amount of money each buyer spent on their purchase, for privacy reasons. As such, if you have made only one referral, I will only be able to tell you that you've gotten credit for only one purchase. Please understand, my customers' privacy, including yours, is very important to me. :)
I cannot be held liable for items lost in shipping. Customs fees are the responsibility of the buyer/recipient of each shipment.
Additional policies and FAQs
When making your bracelet or anklet, I use special tools to size according to the inner circumference of the finished piece. Different bead sizes will cause two bracelets of the same physical length to fit very differently. By sizing according to the inner circumference of the finished piece, it ensures that no matter what sizes of beads are used in the bracelet, it will fit like the size you measured your wrist for. When you receive your finished bracelet, it will always be sized to fit you according to the measurement you gave when placing your order, even if the overall length of the bracelet is larger than the size you requested.
1. Using a flexible measuring tape, measure snugly around your wrist at the point where it meets your hand. (Alternatively, use a length of yarn or string to wrap snugly around your wrist at this point, and mark or cut where the string crosses itself. Measure this length of string.)
2. Add 1/4" to 1/2" to your measurement, rounding to the nearest 1/4". This is your total bracelet size.
Example: My wrist measures 6.5". I like my bracelets a bit on the loose side, so I'll add 1/2", making my total bracelet size 7".
If you're ordering a fashion bracelet, you can stop here. If you're ordering a medical ID replacement bracelet, continue.
3. Measure the length of your engraved medical ID tag from end to end. Subtract this from your total bracelet size. This will be the size you need for your medical ID replacement bracelet.
Example: My medical ID tag is 1.5" long, from end to end. Since my total bracelet size is 7", that makes my medical ID replacement bracelet size 5.5"
Note: If the math is confusing or difficult, don't worry! Just send me your measurements, and I'll gladly do the math for you!
Standing barefoot on the floor, measure snugly around the largest part of your ankle. Add 1/4 inch, and round up to the nearest quarter-inch measurement. This is the size of the anklet that would fit you best in the standard sense.
All the earrings I make are on 20 or 22-gauge (standard) surgical steel posts or ear wires. The length noted in the description is the length of the designed earring below the point of attachment to the post, stud, or ear wire.
