Creating One Piece at a Time

Handmade for High Quality, One-of-a-Kind, Eye-Catching Pieces!

Silver Serpent Studio is a small, home-based metalworking and silversmithing workshop owned and operated by Hannah Trost. From start to finish, each individual piece is designed, created, finished, and photographed by a single person.

This means that each jewelry piece is made with care and precision, and many are unique, such as my natural stone pendants in my Captured Earth Series. These pendants are all made with hand-selected and often specially designed cabochons – no two are alike. Each cabochon has been shaped and polished by local rock-hound aficionados and carefully inspected before purchase - no dye/fake colors nor flaws/cracks here! Many of the stones I use are native to the western United States and have even been mined by my sources during the warmer months. I’m constantly surprised at the natural, vibrant colors our earth has created!

If you are looking for something specific or have a design in mind that you’d like to bring into reality, I can have stones shaped to fit into custom jewelry designs. I love bringing your ideas to life! I will send photos of sketches for approval and progress as the piece comes together, to make sure it is what you want and a piece you’ll be happy with for a lifetime.

Another custom series that is continually growing with additional options and features is my Heirloom Bookmark line. Made from copper, brass, or aluminum, these bookmarks can be customized with personal quotes, favorite animals, artwork, flame painting, and so much more. These bookmarks make memorable gifts for book lovers, special occasions, or for yourself, bringing a smile to your face every time you open your book!
****Coming soon: wall art pieces, more bookmark sizes, and enameled jewelry!****

Techniques I currently use: silversmithing, metalworking (especially with copper), and wire weaving. Silver clay, enamel, and engraving are in the works!

Other Techniques I practice: beadweaving, stringing, kumihimo, knotting/macrame, bead embroidery, loom work, wire crochet

Art has always been one of my passions. I love working with my hands, so it's no surprise that I've embraced silversmithing & metalworking. I'm always trying new techniques and challenging myself - which means new designs are always coming!

Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be happy with your new jewelry, bookmarks, and/or artwork! Please contact me about any questions or concerns you may have any time during or after your purchase. I do my best to work with you to resolve any issues that may arise.

RETURNS/EXCHANGES: I accept returns and exchanges on non-custom pieces. Exchanges will be treated as a return if exchanged for a different type or style of jewelry. Items should be in new/unworn condition and undamaged for a full refund. Please begin the return/exchange process promptly - contact me within 7 days of receiving your order and have the items shipped back to me within 14 days of contacting me (30 days for international orders). This means that within 21 days of receiving your order (37 days for international orders), I should have the items back in my hands so that I can issue a refund or start the exchange for you. Shipping cannot be refunded; return shipping is your responsibility.

CUSTOM ORDERS: Custom-made items cannot be returned/exchanged. If there is a problem with your order, please contact me. I will work with you on a case-by-case basis to try to resolve any issues with the order. If I have made a mistake, I will pay for return shipping and fix the mistake. Please be aware that most custom-made pieces cannot be reused in my shop - therefore returns will receive a PARTIAL REFUND only - the amount refunded will depend on the materials used and if they can be reused/recycled. Generally, $10-15 will NOT be refunded for a piece made from sterling silver; the amount withheld will be less for copper or beaded pieces. If the mistake is not mine, then shipping cannot be refunded; return shipping is your responsibility.

DAMAGED ITEMS: Please contact me about any damage and expect to send photos of the damage. I check over my work before creating a listing and I package all my pieces with care to try to avoid any damage, but sometimes unexpected things happen. If you are concerned about the piece being damaged during shipping, there are shipping insurance upgrades available.

PREVENT DAMAGE: Please take care of your new JEWELRY by following a couple simple steps: 1) remove jewelry before bathing or swimming, 2) avoid salt water or excessive sweat, and 3) keep away from small children and pets. Clean gently with a damp cloth and pat dry - avoid cleaning agents that may damage stones, pearls, or thread (read the label of the cleaning agent carefully if you are unsure). BOOKMARKS require similar care - please avoid salt water and/or salty air and clean with soap, water and a gentle cloth - no harsh/abrasive cleaning agents. If you have any questions, please contact me!

REPAIRS: Please contact me about any needed repairs. I will repair my designs if possible; fees for repairs will vary depending on the piece, how it was damaged, and if materials are still available for repairs. Sometimes I repair a piece for free - you only need to pay shipping!
