Announcement    HOLIDAY SALE! - ENJOY 15% OFF - EXTENDED THROUGH DECEMBER 16th!!

Welcome to my Etsy Shop! I offer original Impressionist paintings and fine art. Much of my work revolves around cityscapes, seascapes and harbor scenes, mainly of New York City and its surrounding area. I also love to paint transportation themed works (subway trains, buses, ships and tugboats and of course, bridges) as these are so iconic to the city and of my personal experiences. But these subjects are only part of the story. The atmosphere, weather, time of day, and light are the real point of my paintings. I love to capture the mood and emotion in these things most of all which is why I love Impressionism so much.

I offer both original paintings and fine art giclée reproductions of my paintings. These prints are made using archival inks on heavy stock acid-free velvet fine art paper and are hand signed.

I hope you enjoy looking through work! Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Robert Padovano is best known for his vibrant Impressionistic cityscapes of New York and its’ surrounding environment. His vibrant use of color and expressive brush strokes make his paintings come alive with atmosphere and light. His painting technique incorporates both Impressionist and Pointillist effects, often juxtaposing dabs of pure thick color side by side. When viewed at a distance, the eye mixes these colors to give a luminescent quality to light and shadows.

Having grown up in Brooklyn, the New York urban landscape provides constant inspiration for him. Says Rob, “The effect of changing light upon city streets and buildings is very compelling. This is especially true in “bad” weather, when the snow and rain transform them into something beautiful and mysterious. The light shimmering off a wet pavement or a snowstorm blanketing the city in pristine silence never fails to capture my imagination.”

Robert’s paintings are part of many private and international collections. He has exhibited at The Staten Island Museum, The John A. Noble Maritime Museum, The Newhouse Gallery of Contemporary Art, The E. Mayan Studio in New York City, SHOW Gallery in Staten Island, Gallery 364 in Brooklyn, and many others. His work has been included in juried shows at The Salmagundi Club in New York and the American Artists Professional League, and also featured on cable television artists spotlights.

He is also an award-winning graphic artist, and has received numerous national and international design awards from Print Magazine, Graphis, Creativity Annual, and American Corporate Identity, among many others. An extensive collection of his work can be see on his website padovanofineart.com.
