My mother has this exact same Sarah Coventry brooch and as a kid I used to steal it & wear it. I couldn't believe this exists, and it's just like new. It came packed safely in great time. Would shop again & recommend!

Having a huge Xmas sale in my shop stop in and check it out!!!

Great Vintage finds at Great Prices

Hello my name is Bill, and I am an etsyholic:

I started off working in the banking/finance world after college, but recently went back to school for photography. I am an avid vintage jewelry collector. I love to spend time hunting for rare and neat pieces for my collection and for my store. I started collecting vintage jewelry back in my teens when my grandmother gave me one of her old cameos. I also have a large collection of vintage rosaries from all over the world.

I am in the Chicagoland area but when I am hunting I travel all over Illinois or where ever else my work might take me. My business got its name from my previous store PaganCellar which sold hand made soaps, jewelry and Wicca items. In 2008 started adding vintage pieces to my shop but felt it was becoming overwhelmed and opened PaganCellarJewelry in Oct 2008.

I think my shop stands out from others due to the eclectic variety I offer in both products and prices. My overall goal is to help share the fun and excitement of collecting vintage with collectors of all ages and financial means. I love nothing more than hearing back from a buyer on how much they loved a piece and what they will be doing with it.

Quick Reference for Rating Evaluating Vintage Costume Jewelry

Mint Condition: Jewelry that has never been worn - including new old stock where appropriate - with original boxes and/or tags. No flaws or signs of wear anywhere on the jewelry.

Excellent Condition: Like new but without tags/boxes. If the history of the piece is unknown it cannot be considered "mint", "new", or "never worn" - so "like new" is a good descriptor. No noticeable flaws to the jewelry, including scratches, scuffs, scrapes, chips, tarnish, or patina. No bent pins, worn prongs, or clasps that don't work well. Stones are free from surface scratches and still have their original intended appearance (no fading, discoloration, darkened, dead or missing stones).

Very Good Condition: Jewelry that is wearable and overall in excellent condition but has smaller, barely noticeable flaws. Examples: A slight scuff in a stone, spot of wear to metal, tarnished clasp, or age spot/discoloration to a piece that can be noticed when examined up close - but it is not likely to be noticed when worn because it is a minimal, almost negligible imperfection of some sort. OR, the item is in excellent condition when worn but has more significant flaws on the underside or back of piece. Example: a beautiful silver tone necklace that appears to be in excellent condition but is showing noticeable fading/tarnish/discoloration to the underside of the necklace.

Good Condition: Piece is wearable but has noticeable flaws that could possibly be noticed when worn. Peeling or scrapes to more than a couple of stones/beads, noticeable wear to metals, etc. Often a piece is so beautiful and unique that it can be worn with noticeable flaws because it's that fabulous!

Fair Condition: I do not consider jewelry in fair condition to be wearable. I sell "fair condition" pieces in my junk/craft lots if they have hardware or stones that could fulfill another purpose.

Repairable: I use this term to describe jewelry that is missing stones or hardware that can be replaced relatively easily. Often I will use two descriptors for a piece that needs work. For example: if I have a brooch that is missing two stones but otherwise is in excellent condition with no other noticeable flaws, I will list that piece as "repairable to excellent condition" - meaning that once the stones are replaced the piece could be in excellent condition (provided that the repairer does a good job!).
