The Paginário is a family blog and a photo gallery. It's our website and our online boutique. It's sort of a Journal. Mostly, it's the place where we hope to share our love for Slow Life and Slow Creativity. It's also our Facebook page. And our Etsy shop too.

A family project. A lot of passion and enthusiasm. A creative and restless spirit. Our own imaginary. A strong love for crafts, needle arts, textiles, metal, cork and wood. The pleasure of creative evenings.

These are the circumstances in which the Paginário germinates, a hodgepodge of crafts and imaginary. At the slow and laborious pace of a handmade process, we create treasures that open the doors to imagination and enchantment. We hope they will captivate you.

Tecedeira® - Jewellery and accessories on the tip of a needle.


Welcome to the page about Tecedeira. We are from Portugal and Tecedeira is a Portuguese word that means "the weaver". Tecedeira is the first creative line we are launching at Paginário.

Tecedeira® brand and the domain give identity to a family project devoted to the creation and marketing of handmade needle crafted jewellery and accessories (lace, macramé, patchwork and other needle arts using wire and textile). We create little treasures.

Our production is very limited and exclusive. We don't conduct this activity purely for commercial reasons, but also as a form of expression and artistic creation.

Using the traditional needlework techniques applied to many different materials, we engage in the creation of jewellery and accessories with many themes and inspirations and a special bridal collection as well. All our pieces are handcrafted, making each piece unique, even when the patterns are similar. However, along with "Our Classics" collection, we also create special limited editions and one of a kind pieces for all those looking for truly original and special items. All Tecedeira's articles, regardless of their editions, include their own packaging. So, all jewellery pieces have their own box, attractive and refined, and are accompanied by our Certificate of Authenticity.

Regarding the materials we use, quality dictates our choice: despite their extreme beauty and delicacy, the materials we prefer are also very strong and durable. Our choice is also guided by our concern with safety. In this area, for your safety and for your information on the materials used in our jewellery, we provide a complete description and clear information with each item. We also create a specific range of nickel-free products.

Returns and exchanges
1. Contract termination - Returns

1.1. The withdrawal right
The withdrawal right allows clients to examine the product as face-to-face buyers would do, so they can fully decide if they want to keep the purchase or return the product to the seller and cancel the contract instead. Please note that this is a cooling-off occasion, but it's not a trial period, so the articles should in no way be used while clients decide whether or not to keep them.

1.2. Cooling-off period
Under the Portuguese legislation currently in force for distance selling, clients have a period of 14 calendar days from the date they've received the items to exercise their right of withdrawal.

1.3. Refund
If the withdrawal right is exercised, the seller will issue a full refund of the amounts paid, without any cost to the client, except any expenses directly arising from the return of the items if unclaimed.

1.4. Deadline for refund
If clients choose to terminate the contract, they will be refunded within 30 calendar days from the date we receive the return form informing us on their decision along with the returned items as described in the procedures section below.

1.5. Refunding method
The amounts paid by clients will be refunded by bank transfer. When they fill out the return form clients must provide the details necessary to complete the refund .

2. Exchanges

2.1. Exchanging
If clients are not fully satisfied with their order, but they prefer to exchange the items for others instead of asking for a refund, they may do so, provided that the items to be exchanged are of equal or greater value than the initial order.

2.2. Deadline and conditions
The deadline and conditions to be followed for an exchange are the same as mentioned above for the termination of the contract, and the procedures are also very similar.

2.3. Feedback
Once we confirm the return in good condition of the items clients wish to exchange, we will send an email to inform if those for which they want to swap are still available, as well as of any amount due, if the total for the new order exceeds the constant in the first invoice.

2.4. Payment of difference in value
If any difference in value is due, we will reserve the articles intended for 15 calendar days, so that the client may proceed to payment using one of the paying methods allowed under these selling conditions. The order will be shipped after confirmation that the payment was executed successfully.

2.5. Lack of stock
Since we have a very limited stock availability, if the articles intended are no longer available by the time we receive the exchange request along with the items returned in perfect conditions, than we will process the client's request as a return, refunding the amounts due within 30 calendar days from that date.
For this reason, even if exchanging is the client's first choice, it is imperative to provide the data for bank transfer required on the return form, since the lack of stock may leave us no other option than refunding the client.

3. How to exchange/return

3.1. Conditions to be observed
To exercise the right of withdrawal or to exchange, the client must make sure the articles and their containers are returned in perfect condition. If these requirements are not met, the return will be refused.
So, after receiving the order, the client must ensure that:

- all billing notes, certificates and other documents accompanying the articles are kept safe;
- the articles are preserved in the same condition as received, without any indication of misuse;
- the cases, containers and other packaging materials are preserved in order to be able to return the items properly packed.

3.2. Returning the items
To communicate the decision to terminate the contract or to exchange, the client must return us the articles along with the return form properly filled out. The return form appears on the reverse of the duplicate of the invoice/receipt sent with the order. The procedures described below explain all the details in this process.

3.3. Filling out the return form
The client must fill out the return form that appears on the reverse of the invoice/receipt, stating:

- the preference for a refund or for an exchange;
- the bank account information for refunding;
- the references of the articles intended when the option is an exchange;
- the reasons for returning (optional).

Once completed, the client must attach the return form to the items and documentation to be returned. The returning order must always be shipped together with its return form/invoice duplicate.

3.4. Packing the items
We recall that it is the sender's responsibility to ensure the proper conditioning of the order being returned so that it reaches us in good condition. We will refuse the return of damaged items.
The client should, therefore, make sure that the items to be returned and their cases are properly packed in a box or container suitable for their shipment and preservation. If possible, it would be a good option to keep the order's initial shipping container in good condition so it can be reused to return the items.

3.5. Including documentation
Besides the proper packing of the items and their cases, it is also essential to include with the returning order any documents initially sent with the articles (product booklets, certificates, guarantees, guidelines for care and maintenance, etc.).

3.6. Shipping the items
The returning order must be shipped to our address with a tracking number that ensures that delivery is made successfully (to obtain our address, please refer to the Seller section).
The items must be returned with all freight expenses prepaid. We cannot accept freight collect shipments.
1. Currency
Payments take place in Euros .

2. VAT
When due, the standard rate of VAT will be added to the price (for the moment, an exemption is currently in force in accordance with art . # 53 of the Portuguese VAT Code ).

3. Payment methods

3.1. Credit card (via Etsy or via Paypal)
You can pay by credit card through the Etsy Direct Checkout or by Paypal. No need to have a Paypal account to pay by credit card. If you opt for Paypal at the checkout, you'll have the opportunity then to indicate you wish to pay by card rather than Paypal account.

3.2. Etsy Gift Cards
If you have an Etsy Gift Card you can use it as your payment method. Simply choose that option at checkout.

3.3. Paypal account
If you hold a Paypal account you can use it too. Just opt for Paypal at checkout.

3.4. Wire transfer
If any of the payment options above suits you, choose "other" when selecting the payment method at checkout. In that case you can choose to make your payment via bank transfer. Contact us so we can send you the necessary details. The deadline for making the payment by bank transfer is seven calendar days from the date we send you the details for that purpose. After this period, the order is canceled.

3.5. ATM (available only to debit cards issued in Portugal)
If you specify "other" when choosing the payment method at checkout and if you hold an ATM card issued by a Portuguese bank (Multibanco), this is another payment option at your disposal. If you decide to choose it, please contact us to request a Multibanco reference for your payment. The deadline for this payment method is seven calendar days from the date we send you the Multibanco reference. After this period, the order is canceled.

4. Billing
Clients will receive their payment invoice/receipt along with their order (the original must be kept by the client and the duplicate will only be necessary if an exchange or return takes place).
1. Destinations
The boutique carries shipments to any destination within the European Union. The boutique doesn't ship to countries outside the European Union or to the third territories tied with some EU Member States such as the Island of Heligoland, the territory of Büsingen, Ceuta, Melilla, Livigno, Campione d’Italia, the Italian waters of Lake Lugano, Mount Athos, the Canary Islands, the French overseas departments, the Åland Islands and the Channel Islands.

2. Shipping address
The order will be shipped to clients' Etsy address. Clients must make sure their Etsy address is correct and updated. New shipping charges will be involved if we have to resend a returned order due to an incorrect address or because it wasn't picked up in time.

3. Courier services
The boutique draws on the services of CTT (Portuguese Postal Services) for deliveries .

4. Shipping rates
Shipping rates are listed on each item page. They are calculated based on destination, item weight and they include a compensation insurance to guarantee a refund from the Courier in case the order is lost or damaged. It's a better deal to ship multiple items together.

5. Dispatch
Ready to ship in three to five business days. All orders with payment materialized successfully are shipped weekly. Dispatch is carried out once or twice a week, whenever possible on Mondays and when justified also on Thursdays.

6. Delivery guarantee
For safety reasons, we ship only with tracking number, hand delivery and a compensation insurance to guarantee a CTT refund in case the order is lost or damaged. Please note that only the delivery is guaranteed, not the delivery time. So, if there is a delay there will be no compensation from CTT.

7. Delivery tracking
Clients can track and trace their order. We'll notify the clients once their order is shipped and we'll include the Courier URL and their order tracking number so they can follow it.

8. Delivery time
The delivery time is between one to three business days for mainland Portugal (expect a little more time for Madeira and Azores) and between three to six business days for the rest of the European Union countries.These delivery times are merely indicative and don't include any delivery on time or money back guarantees if the time limit is exceeded.

9. Delays
Deliveries can be delayed for many reasons for which we can't be held responsible and that are beyond our control such as, for instance, adverse weather conditions, strikes, etc. If the delay in delivery exceeds two weeks for Portugal (mainland), three weeks for Madeira and Azores and four weeks for the rest of the European Union, please let us know so we can verify the reasons with our Courier. We can not, however, be held responsible for these delays.

10. Damaged or lost order
At the time of accepting the items delivered by the Courier, clients should first check the package condition. In general, Paginario items are not breakable. However, if the package is significantly damaged and raises serious doubts about the articles' condition inside, before they sign to confirm the delivery, clients should request authorization from the Courier to open the package and verify its contents. If items are damaged, the package should be closed and refused. If the Courier refuses the possibility to check the contents of a package with solid evidence of being damaged, the order should simply be refused. Clients should notify us if this happens, so we can investigate and fill a complain against the Courier.
Whenever we confirm that an order was lost or damaged by the Courier, clients will be refunded of the amounts paid, shipping costs included, as soon as possible.
Additional policies and FAQs
1. Availability/stock

The online boutique has a very limited stock. The stock availability is as follows:

1.1. One-of-a-kind pieces
Unique articles, from which there is only one unit available and once it is ordered it is automatically removed from the catalogue. Unless the sale is not successfully completed, for instance due to lack of timely payment, that article won't be available anymore. One-of-a-kind pieces are unrepeatable.

1.2. Limited editions
Availability is slightly higher than for unique pieces , since there is a stock of each item , although the quantities produced are always reduced . When a limited edition runs out, the stock is not reset and the item is removed from the catalog. Editions are limited either because there are limitations to the availability of materials for the production of more stock , either because they were entitled to a very particular attention during their production.

1.3. Our Classics
Within "Our Classics", there may be some small stock of each piece and there are patterns and processes of production ( materials and techniques ) that can be repeated , so there may be new pieces alike or very similar, although each one maintains the uniqueness of a craftsmanship performed individually and not as a result of mass production. "Our Classics" are a special and permanent collection of designs that symbolizes our style and defines our identity.

2. Tecedeira Guarantees

2.1. Full Disclosure Guarantee
All our jewellery and other items in direct and constant contact with the skin benefit from our "Full Disclosure" guarantee.
Our jewels are not hypoallergenic. This means some of the materials we use may be known to cause allergies in some cases. For instance, although it is very, very rare, it can be the case for copper, a material we are particularly fond of working with, but, to which there is a small number of allergic people.
It is also the case with some of the stainless steel alloys we work with, which contain small percentages of nickel. One of them contains approximately 8 to 10% nickel, a percentage identical to the amount sometimes used in white gold, but that can cause allergic reactions in people with sensitivity to this metal. Even Surgical Stainless Steel, another alloy we use, can affect very sensitive people. Stainless steel also contains chromium (between 17 and 20%), another allergen to which some people are sensitive, although the most common contact allergies are actually triggered by nickel.
Another example that can trigger allergies in some individuals and may appear in some of our creations is polyester.
So, in this context, given the diversity of materials we use and the need to ensure our clients' safety, we provide detailed information on the materials used in each article, both in its description in the shop and in the product booklet sent with the order.
Thus, we guarantee complete and reliable information about the materials used, enabling our clients to make informed buying decisions.

2.2. Nickel-Free Guarantee
Since contact dermatitis caused by nickel is an increasingly common allergy, for the safety of our clients allergic to this metal, we create a specific range of jewellery totally nickel-free, which is properly identified by this guarantee.
Regardless of being identified or not as nickel-free, we also guarantee that all of the earring hooks in our jewellery are totally free of this metal, because pierced ears are very sensitive and tend to potentiate a response from the immune system.
