Announcement   Welcome to my shop! This is where I sell my fine art photos. If you're interested in my renaissance faire photos, you should contact the faire and ask them, since those photos belong to them.

My photos are available in other sizes than 8x10 or 8x12 ($30). 5x7 ($20) 11x14 ($45) Any mix of three 5x7s for $35. Just convo me with details and I'll create a custom listing for you.

I specialize in fine art, macro photography. Usually nature, sometimes not. All of my photos are professionally printed and prints purchased will not have the slightly obtrusive watermark on the front. Unless stated in the listing, my flower photos are of flowers that I grow in my own back yard. On the back of the photo, I put the title of and the date that I took that photo, and I sign it.

My banner image is cropped from a photo of dew and raindrops on a daisy in my backyard.

All rights of sold prints are retained by me.

About

It all started because of a fundraiser...

When my youngest daughter was in 11th grade, we found out that the orchestra at her high school (she plays violin) was invited to New York City for a music competition. We also found out it was going to cost nearly a thousand dollars. We live on a fixed income and I didn't want to go to my parents AGAIN and ask them for money. We had a year to raise the money.

At the urging of April Winchell (of Regretsy), I started a shop selling some birdhouses my disabled spouse made and some photographs. When we raised the money (with the help of April and Regretsy), I was all set to close the shop and let that be that. But at the insistence of friends and (again) April, I opened a shop specifically for my photography.

My parents gave me my first camera for Christmas when I was 13 years old. It was a "Disc" camera. I actually still have it in a box somewhere in my basement. In high school, I took a photography class and my dad let me use the "fancy" Nikon EM camera he bought. We shot black and white film, developed our own film, and even printed our own photos in a darkroom. When I got married and had kids of my own, my dad gave me that Nikon, saying he "never could use it right anyway". I used that camera till it died in 2005 (right in the middle of my son's martial arts tournament!). I shot with a point-and-shoot for a few years.

I shoot with a Nikon D5100 now. I shoot RAW (hence my photo above) and I edit all my photos in RAW form with Photoshop Elements 11. I specialize in macro, nature-related photos. I spend my weekends in the summer at the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Kenosha, WI. Those photos are for the faire and the actors involved in them- I don't sell them. After years of taking photos as a patron, and giving them to the actors/performers and the faire management, they made me one of the official Bristol photographers for the 2013 season! My instructions were: "Keep doing what you've always done, but now you'll have a heads-up for special events..." The 2013 season at Bristol was phenomenal! I can hardly wait till next year! I was asked (and I accepted) to be the official photographer of the annual A Gathering of Rogues and Ruffians Renaissance Faire in October of 2013 after they featured two of my photos from their event in 2012 on a billboard!

Thank you for coming to my shop!

Unless otherwise stated in the listing, the flower photos that I list are all of flowers that I grow in my own back yard. Also, unless stated in the listing, the photos are as they are from my camera. I don't rely on heavy digital manipulation- but I do have a section in the shop for a few of those photos.
