Note from shop owner I'm putting our shop on vacation mode in anticipation of Etsy suspending the account, despite over a decade of consistent sales, regular five star ratings, and star seller status.

Etsy wants vendors to download an app and to enter banking information so that the app can access our accounts, supposedly to confirm that we are not fraudulent. For privacy reasons, I adamantly do not want an additional app on my phone and find it upsetting to be required to do so. Some artists may not even have a smart phone to do so.

Their alternative is to have a small deposit made into the account, which somehow proves there isn't fraud, despite the fact that weekly deposits are made by etsy into my account, and the same account has been in use for over 18 years. I could go ahead and let them make this deposit, but the instructions are complicated, and seem to still involve giving banking information to a third party unnecessarily.

There are other ways etsy has recently been having vendors change their actions to satisfy certain computer tracked statistics and algorithms, whether or not the actions actually do increase customer service or help the brand.

This isn't how I work as an artist and human being. And so, I've decided to allow them to suspend the shop. We are still selling wholesale. We can also take individual card sales if you'd like us to ship to you. If you placed an order before we went on vacation mode, it is still being sent to you. If you have any difficulty at all with a previous order, please email us. We will give you the same 5 star service we always have, to work with you to fix the situation.
