My fianc?e have bought many coaster sets from Chantel and love all of them. We frame the collections and use them as paintings in our home. I highly recommend Chantel's products.

About

Trying to stand out in a crowd.

I've been an artist for about 10years now. Since I can remember people have been telling me that I should make my work available for sale. As a shy person I would just blush and wave them off.

After graduating from college and meeting my love I was given that extra push I needed to gain confidence in my craft. I joined Etsy and started signing up for craft fairs. Now in my second year my shop is finally getting steady views and sales are starting to come in. I've been extrememly sucessful at fairs now I'm focusing on building my Etsy and making a strong and coherent store.

I work in a wide range of mediums all of which take alot time and close attention to detail is key.

My style of painting i influenced by impressionism and pop art. Pop art in that I use/manipulate images in popular culture and impressionism in the brushstrokes. I like to paint with a heavy contrast in a gray scale with bright splashes of colors. I find that my paintings stand out better this way and can even be seen in the dark.

All of my wood blocks are hand carved, no electric tools are used. Just the appropriate pressure and a series of metal utensils. The process is originally used in printmaking but I find more pleasure in the carving than the printing.

My coasters, totes, patches, vinyl and spray paintings are created using hand drawn and cut stencils. I find an image I like, I redraw and work it to fit my style and then I proceed to cut out the negative space. This is an extremely tedious task but gives me excellent results and stays true to my personal style which can often be lost when using stencils. I never use Photoshop.

Frequently asked questions

Care instructions

For Coasters: the sealer stops moisture from being fully absorbed into the coaster which would eventually cause it to break down. Therefore, some condensation will sit at the top, you can either wipe away when done or simply let it air dry. If you spill a beverage that tends to stain ie, wine or coffee, you can wipe it away with a slightly damp sponge/cloth , apply soap if necessary but directly to the sponge or cloth not the coaster. Do not submerge in water
