Announcement   Instead of having a coupon code, for the month of May I have discounted everything dinosaur by 20%.
Tiny houses, small houses, cottages, cabins....I'm obsessed with them all.
I've started combining my own tiny house movement with my love of collage and paper crafts.
In my collage, decoupage and mixed media pieces I enjoy a combination of vintage, antique and altered items. Though these days I find I am focusing more on mannequins, dress forms and mannequin parts.
Paper collage art is done the old fashioned way with paper and scissors.
In my decoupage and art projects I prefer to use what I have on hand, cutting and clipping from vintage books (that are already damaged or only partially there) and greeting cards. Salvage items from clocks and phones.
I see a rusty typewriter or dials off of an old stove and I think "I could do something with that!"
I love the idea of reinventing objects with existing items. Items that were made by the generations that lived here before me, remnants of the distant and not too distant past.
The different papers and metals when blended together create a visual and tactile experience.
I am constantly rearranging my office trying to find the best way to display al of my bits and pieces of this and that for inspiration. Primitive one day, retro the next, depending on my mood.
Reusing is also part of my effort to keep items out of the land fills and not create any more than necessary.
The same goes for my mailing options, I try to reuse boxes and envelopes whenever possible.

About

"Mom, what is decoupage?"

"Mom, what is decoupage?"
Seemed like an innocent enough question posed by my son Mathew. I answered and went on with my life until I thought.."Did I tell him correctly?" So I went to the library and checked out a book by Lindsey Leslie and was hooked.

For quite a few years I had been in the antique buying and selling business. I preferred to combine items...put die cuts in frames and so on. At the time it wasn't popular and I felt very frustrated without an outlet for my creative streak.

After I pulled out of the antique store I was left with an enormous amount of ephemera (which is difficult to sell in a store) and other odds and ends. That's when I glued my first die cut on to an other wise boring piece of pottery. Since then I have tried many different mediums for collage and decoupage. Mannequins and dress forms being my favorite to date.

I've also gotten my sons involved on Etsy.

So now I fill my days with cat collages, vintage wedding cake toppers, altered books and mixed media assemblages and collages.
I enjoy many genres of art, beautiful Victorian inspired collage, dada and surrealistic blending of images, gothic romance, and anything else that sparks my interest.

My Dad is 83 years old. He has been a carpenter the majority of his life. Two years ago he had a stroke and recently wanted to get back into making things. Any handmade wood items in either of my shops was made by him.

Shop policies

Welcome to my shop. My goal is to sell all the collectibles and antiques so I can make space in my home and office for my art projects. I prefer to use original materials for my decoupage and collage...boxes found at yard sales or thrift stores. One of my efforts at being 'green'. Occasionally I do use a copy and will state so in the items description. I think the original paper items give depth to the finished product, each having a different weight or finish.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Money Order
Payment
Paypal is my preferred form of payment, on occasion I may accept a money order but only a Postal Money Order. Must be agreed to in advance ofpurchase.
Shipping
I am more than happy to ship overseas.
I have recently added shipping costs for "everywhere else". If I ship and I overestimated by more than $2 I will refund partial shipping after the sale.
If you are interested in an item and I haven't calculated overseas shipping yet, please convo me (I check throughout the day) and I will reserve the listing for you and get a shipping quote.

I also try to be green in my shipping. I like to use recycled aka reused envelopes and boxes. As a result the package may be unceremonious but serves the purpose.
If you are sending something as a gift, do let me know and I will package accordingly.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be happy with your purchase. If you are not, let me know and I can either refund your cost or replace, depending on the item you purchased.
On small packages I have started adding tracking to insure against getting lost.
If you want to return an item for a refund the buyer is responsible for return postage. If upon receipt I feel your dissatisfaction was based on the quality of the product, I will then refund your shipping costs.
I have worked with customers in the past and will continue to do so.
Additional policies and FAQs
I will make custom orders, the amount of time it will take to finish a project will partially be determined by the availability of the desired subject matter.
Convo me and we can brainstorm or you can tell me exactly what it is you would like.
A decorated box (it doesn't have to be monsters like the one I made for Joseph) or a mannequin or any other object you may have or would like me to find and decoupage for you.
