I love to encourage beginner level quilters to have confidence in their ability to sew beautiful quilts! I try to make my instructions clear and simple with illustrations to guide you. I also enjoy making quilts with many pieces, so you will find some more challenging patterns as well!
Quality one of a kind handmade Quilts and Table Runners are a great gift for every occasion! Whether you buy a premade quilt or a patern to make one yourself you can add some color and warmth to your home with a special quilt. Every quilt in my shop is skillfully made by me in my home studio - every step from choosing the fabrics to sewing the pieces, to the machine quilting. I also make a variety of other fabric items.
I make most of my quilts with a lightweight cotton batting that shrinks on washing, giving my quilts a lovely soft feel and antique look. Some of my quilts feature a lightweight poly batting that is also soft, but does not shrink. My quilts are warm, but not heavy and are suitable for use year round in many climates! The more they are washed and loved the better they get.

5 out of 5 starsThis is indeed sweet & simple! It makes a nice child size quilt that is easily adjusted by adding blocks. I added another row for a 40x60 sized top.

Welcome to my sewing room! This is where I work on all the ideas I have for new quilts.
You can create beautiful quilts, too!
I totally believe that with the right attitude, fabrics and instructions that you can create beautiful quilts! I've been quilting and designing for most of my life, and really believe that most people are capable of putting needle and thread together to make something wonderful! I hope that my patterns will help put you on the road to successfully meeting this goal.
In each of my patterns I strive for making the instructions as simple and easy to follow as possible. I create illustrations to help clarify what words can sometimes lack in conveying. I love to work with secondary designs and patterns, so often my quilts look more difficult than they actually are, but the majority of my patterns can be made by someone without a great deal of experience.
The creativity involved in the quilting process totally captivates me. Choosing fabrics, designing a pattern, coming up with a quilting pattern all stimulate my visual creativity. Cutting, precision sewing, doing the math to figure out the finished results are such challenging and rewarding mental pursuits. Doing the machine quilting is like drawing, but better (because I really can't draw well!). The purr of the sewing machine while I manipulate the quilt is truly a joy - seeing the quilt come to life beneath my fingers is almost intoxicating. It really feeds me on so many levels and I can't imagine not being able to stitch my days away.
I'm not sure where my evolution as a quilter will lead me - right now I am very focused on the designing aspect, but I have also explored teaching, creating quilts for shows, and working as a judge. Really, my first joy is simply the process of stitching and making quilts.
I have so much enjoyed the evolution of my shop on Etsy. It started off as a way to diminish my supply of quilts and wallhangings that have accumulated over my years of quilting and has grown to be so much more than that. I have enjoyed getting to know some wonderful people as I have made quilts and other fabric objects for my wonderful customers to enjoy. I have had the opportunity to send quilts all over the world, and really feel that I have been able to impact so many people in a positive way. Now I am transitioning to selling patterns only in this shop, and am moving my quilts to my second etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PamelaQuiltStudio
You will continue to find shop samples, and other quilted items there!
As an Etsy seller I have had to learn the ins and outs of shipping and packaging. I strive to keep my shipping reasonable as well as efficient. I keep my packaging simple with the goal of getting my quilts (and other items) to their destinations in perfect condition. Perhaps I should knock on wood, but I can say that I have only had one item not arrive, and that came back to me after 6 months in France! Wish I could have taken that trip as well!

I've grown up around fabric, sewing machine, and needles. I love to create with lots of color and contrast - many of my quilt designs are my own creations and I am offering patterns for many of them in my shop as well!

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders
I love to make custom items, but at busy times it can take more time to get them completed. I always try to communicate and if something is needed on a deadline always am willing to try to meet it if possible. Any of my quilts can be personalized with a label on the back with the inscription you ask for. I generally print the labels on special fabric so that they are permanent and can be washed and dried normally.
Sizing details
Unwashed quilts will shrink some when laundered for the first time. I make sure to indicate in the listing whether the quilt is pre-washed or not. I always include the measurements for the item as it is now when shipping to you.
It is not easily possible to make a quilt larger or smaller than it is, that would be a custom request, and I am glad to work with you on that if possible. Many times the same fabric is no longer available so I will have to make substitutions.
Completed Item or Pattern?
If the price is under $10.00, you are most likely looking at a pattern to make the item you are interested in. PDF patterns are not refundable. Please make sure to read the listing, I am very thorough in describing my items and the title and listing description will contain all the information you need to know what you are purchasing.
If I purchase from another country, what are the fees and shipping times?
International customers take note - when your purchase arrives there will be Customs fees due, which can be rather large - up to 32.5% of the value of the item plus shipping fee in EU, and possibly even more elsewhere. Make sure you are prepared to pay this charge before purchasing this item. I will not mark your purchase as a gift, but will give you a discount of 10% if you contact me before purchasing. Choosing the gift option when purchasing will not make it a gift for customs purposes, the purchase cost is always included on the customs label and will be used for that purpose when valuing your purchase. Shipping times vary, usually delays are caused clearing customs which is out of my control.
