I actually got another one of Pamela's guinea fowl pieces. I love all the stitching and the quirky humor in her pieces.

About

Tale of a reluctant shopkeeper

For years we argue that we are artists NOT marketers. But I have finally bitten the bullet and taken some responsibility to actually sell all the good art that I make. And it's not so hard or time consuming after all.

I can only hope that I will be good at the mechanics of paper work, receipts, standing behind the counter and smiling . As a teenager I had a job at my local supermarket. When I graduated and left the store they said to me " Pamela you are a very nice young girl, but you were the worst cashier we ever had" !!! I hope I have improved since then. haha

PARDON THE ACCOLADES WRITTEN BELOW. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOU WANT TO BUY SOMETHING OF MINE

Pamela Allen is a fiber artist of international standing. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, national magazines and several books including MASTERS ; ART QUILTS. MAJOR WORKS BY LEADING ARTISTS ( Lark Books Publisher) where one of her pieces appears on the cover. The eleven art pieces inside the book are described as below.

"...the faces. Never mind that they are blue or green: never mind that the eyes and mouths are on different planes, often executed in different styles, reminding the viewer of Picasso. These faces are compelling They are expressive. And they demand that you share their emotion."
Martha Seilman editor MASTERS: ART QUILTS

"Pamela Allen's art could be called "double takes" as no one can look just once. This Canadian sees her world with a unique lens and brings this view and her insights together to form some of the most striking, thought provoking and yes beautiful works of art. "
Dawn Goldsmith, essayist and freelance writer

"Pamela Allen is one of those rare quilters that sticks with you. We all have different tastes when it comes to quilts, but Ms. Allen creates such works of art that no matter your quilting preference, you can't help but remember her quilts. That is a true gift. Not only that, but this quilter can inspire her students. Having been fortunate enough to take a workshop with her, I know that Pamela is a motivating and very patient instructor."
Jackie Philpot , Administrative Assistant ,Canadian Quilt Association
