About

Beautiful and useful fabric creations.

I come from a long line of fiber artists (though they would never have called themselves that). My mom was an avid knitter and crocheter. She hardly went anywhere without a ball of yarn and either knitting needles or a crochet hook. My grandmother tatted and embroidered. I learned to embroider from her. Two of my great-grandmothers (one on each side of the family) were quilters and, though I never knew either one of them, we were blessed to have quite a collection of their quilts. These quilts were probably working on me subliminally for years.

I learned to sew when I was about 12 and made lots of clothes. As my friends started getting married and having babies, I wanted to commemorate these milestones with unique, handmade gifts. I made my first baby quilt and never went back to sewing garments except for an occasional costume for one of my sons. I have taken a few quilting classes, but am largely self taught, with a lot of help from videos, books, and magazines. I have certainly made my share of wonky blocks and odd looking quilts, and I have learned from each one. I have been making quilts for many years for many friends and family members. People have frequently told me that I should sell my creations. About a year and a half ago I began doing just that.

I enjoy the challenge of putting interesting colors and patterns together Every quilt, big or small is an adventure! I love fabric and I love patchwork. There is something about the precision of patchwork that is very appealing to me. In addition to quilts, I make other fabric products, including tote bags, tea and coffee cozies, potholders, eyeglass cases, cell phone purses, wallets, trivets, coasters, wine bags, table toppers, and wall hangings. I also do custom work.

I take pride the quality of my work. I use 100% cotton fabric. Every binding is hand sewn and all of my products are finished in a way that eliminates raw edges. Everything is washable. Many of my baby and lap quilts are backed with flannel to make them extra cuddly.

I look forward to creating something special for you!
