Book Repurpository

Pangolyn is taking a short break.

Our family is going though a lot right now. I am not able to provide the level of service I feel is needed, so I am temporarily closing the shop. I will re-open sometime before Thanksgiving. If you are in desparate need for one of my covers (ha!) and are willing to put up with some delay then you can send me a conversation through Etsy and we can work something out. Thanks to everyone for supporting my shop!

See you soon,
Russell Neilson (Pangolyn)

Pangolyn's Shop Announcement

Welcome to the Book Repurpository! We repurpose hardcover books to be used as e-book reader covers. Wrap your e-reader in a book from your youth, something silly or something subtle.

HOW DOES THIS WORK? I cafefully remove the pages from the book, which are usually kept intact by their binding so it's still readable. Next, if the interior sides of the book are plain or marked up, I cut out the title page (or similar) from the book and carefully glue it to the inside cover. Next, I cut a thin board to support the spine, glue it in, and cover the interior of the spine with black fabric bookbinding tape. Finally, I cut holding straps from elastic to conform to the size and button placement of the device and permanently secure them using metal grommets (dull brass, shiny brass or shiny silver color, depending on the book).
If requested, I also add a strap to hold the cover closed using the same grommets. I also glue a trimmed section of the dustjacket to the cover of the book upon request.
Most books on this site have additional pictures from an example made for a Nook Color.
