Our products are made by hand in our studio or obtained from trusted vendors. We have a strong commitment to sourcing eco-friendly materials and working with American-based, environmentally friendly manufacturers.
In Melissa's previous life, she was a medical editor for an affiliate of The Johns Hopkins University that works in international public health. She's seen the world, and there's truly no place like home. You may wonder how we made the leap from editing to selling paper party goods. For the full story, you have to back up to 2008, when I became obsessed with letterpress printing and purchased my first press. I started printing letterpress stationery as a hobby, and with encouragement from friends decided to open a shop here on Etsy called Paper Ink Press.
I continued my editing career while printing on the side. But after my son was born in January, 2011, it was difficult to print or find the brain power to edit. I've always had an obsession with pretty paper things, so looking for a way to keep busy while my son napped, I decided to open another shop on Etsy, Paper and Present, to offer the envelopes I stocked for my letterpress business to hobby card makers. One thing led to another, and the shop grew in ways I could have never imaged.
In March, 2014, I changed the name of the shop to Wrap and Revel to more accurately convey our now extensive product line that focused primarily on gift wrap and party goods. It's amazing that what started as a small hobby in May 2011 to satisfy my obsession with pretty paper (it's not hoarding if it's your business...) has turned into the busy shop that you see today.
Today, Paper Ink Press LLC comprises three brands: Paper Ink Press, Wrap and Revel, and our newest adventure, Revel & Co.
These days, when not working on this shop, Melissa loves letterpress printing, gardening, knitting, canning, and renovating houses. She's married to an engineer who knows a thing or two about beer and coffee, and is mom to a sweet boy and a spoiled Weimaraner. She thinks pretty paper makes the world go 'round, and she's never met a rice krispy treat that she didn't like.
Wrap and Revel is located in the beautiful tiny town of Palisade, Colorado, among vineyards and vast orchards of peaches, pears, and cherries. Life is good.
