In 2008, Michele opened an online store called "Windows on West Street", where she sold hand painted windows and gourds. She moved her inventory to a small shop space in Andover, NJ where she was able to sell bigger pieces, such as re-finished furniture painted with farm scenes and stenciling. In 2010 she moved the business back to online sales and art shows to give more attention to the art rather than the running of the shop. Paper Babies is a natural extension of her painted and stenciled work and offers one of a kind decorative pieces for home and gift giving.


In 2012 Michele AKA Rome, added new pieces to paper babies, creating German-style holiday candy containers and dolls, using the traditions of yesterday to create the heirlooms of tomorrow. Each piece is truly one of a kind, and once it is made another will never be the same. These pieces are made with chip board and paper maché.as well as vintage fabric and handmade miniatures. Even the trees that the Santa holds are hand made from feather and wool.
