I'm Megan - owner of a pair of scissors and a slight obsession with paper! Paper Picture is my tiny illustration company which specialises in paper cut illustrations. I create my work by meticulously hand cutting and layering different pieces of paper, finishing then with subtly painted details. These pieces are then photographed, capturing the shadows of each layer of paper before being edited for reproduction. I use these images to create a variety of products such as greetings cards, prints, badges, stickers and tote bags. This precise and thorough approach allows me to produce high quality products which still express the depth, texture and character of the original cut paper piece. I also mount and frame the original illustrations to sell as unique pieces of artwork as well as create cut paper illustrated products such as baubles. Due to the nature of cut paper, no one original piece is ever an exact copy and I love this one-of-a-kind aesthetic that paper gives.
I also offer bespoke pieces such as family homes, portraits and landscapes - Your Stories, in Paper. I absolutely love this part of my work as I get to make a piece that is truly personal by hearing all about the recipient and adding in all the tiny distinctive details. The bauble itself is delightful with tiny, tiny stars surrounding a mug of hot chocolate. Something unique, cute and I loved gifting it. Thank you to Megan for the care and attention in her beautiful wrapping of the lovely cards I also bought. Will definitely be back to her shop for future gifts.
