About

My journey starts twenty years ago at the school of goldsmith at the age of 16. I really don’t know what pushed me into that but one day I woke up sure about what I was doing. A cosmic message I would say. In the school I had the chance to learn a lot and to meet many special people who were the first to inspire me. After graduating I started working in ateliers with really creative artists and there I had the chance to learn all the production stages from scratch. I learned a lot of different methods and I became familiar with different materials.
Year after year I was growing strong. Knowledge came and then strength to give a chance to myself to express my need for creation. It was and is still is an inner need, an intuition, an energy which instead of wasting it in vastness it is captured in an object of art. It is the deeper thoughts that are being expressed through material. What I always try to do is to connect materials with brighter feelings, with dreamy expressions even of my darkest moments.

What I do is endless. And this is something that I love very much in my profession. My daily routine is hardly a routine. Every day is different. For me the chance to deal every day with something new is a privilege that I wouldn’t change with nothing in this world. Through my job every day I can transform feelings. I can start my day with heavy thoughts and energy and this throughout the day it is being altered to something more mellow and creative. And of course my tools. They are my allies to my daily combat with the metals. Together we manage to give shape to the hardest materials.

All of my subjects are a story growing old with me. My inner changes and worries, my techniques, the important moments of my life. My life story is written on my creations.

My art is inner, a non verbal way of expressing my self. I believe that the people who choose my items they do it because we share a mutual feeling. I believe that I touch something in their hearts, a common dream, a common need, a common feeling.

Today after 15 years of creation the materials that have the biggest place in my heart is bronze and aluminum. There is a flirtation with other metals but bronze is my favorite one. What I love in it is the color, the texture, the strength and the fire I have to use to tame it. And also these materials are “clear” meaning I can imprint the details that I want.

But let’s see a few more about my processes.
All of my items are 100% handmade and out of it 90% is made by me. Everything starts with my models that I design first on wax and a few times with the help of the computer. Then these models are caste. And this is the only that step that i get help form experts. Having the casts ready in metal i start to put together the pieces. One part is the cast and then the parts of metals pieces that I cut on hand to give them shape (like stars, wings, flowers etc.).
Then I have to weld everything together and this is where fire comes along. It’s fire that glues and unites all the pieces. And last we have the finishing and polishing. There, all the marks from the cast and the weld have to disappear so it will leave a very clean ,smooth and sweet object. This is how I like them. I like shine and soft results. I pay a lot of attention to details because this is what I notice myself in everything. Plus the concentration that is required to give so detailed finishes is one of the parts of my process that I love the most.
Since everything happens in my workshop I can give you some hinds about the place.

It is a really big industrial basement. Dark colors and heavy machinery is the most of it . The brighter the creations are the heavier the space is. I always work with really loud music. All parts of the day are right for each step of the process but usually the most creative time is either late at night or before dawn when I can work really focused and without distractions. I can spent days in here dealing with one single piece. It clears my mind.

This is my story. I really hope that you will enjoy my art and you will receive it as a message of joy and happiness. To me they are small moments towards dreams and beauty.
