Genuine + Generous Work

Hello! I'm Danie, and I'm the artist behind Pasadya. :)

I began drawing as soon as I could somewhat steadily maneuver a pencil, and I became resoundingly proud of my creations as a four-year-old. My artwork morphed from my first "piece" consisting of impromptu blue Crayola marker scribbles on my wooden dresser (much to my mom's dismay), to horrible buck-tooth portraits I tried to make of my cousin as a nine-year-old, to studied, simplistic pieces as I got older . Early in 2012, with the encouragement of my husband, I launched my own business, lovingly named Pasadya. The word "pasadya" derives from the Philippines, translating in English to "custom."

Why custom? And why the Philippines?

It has always been my intention for the products and services of Pasadya to be custom for clients - I strongly believe that art and design should be well-made and well-intentioned. Most importantly, artwork should take clients' needs to heart. My mom was born and raised in the Philippines, and the Filipino culture that I was lucky enough to be raised in is comprised of a genuine and extremely giving nature. My aim is to give clients just that - genuine work with a foundation of generosity.

When I'm not working, you're likely to find me enjoying yoga, reading light-hearted romantic comedies, biking around, making smoothies, sipping lattes, or hanging out with my husband Clay and our socially awkward Boston Terrier, Xena.

I'm so grateful to God for the experiences He has exposed me to, guiding me to learn and grow professionally and personally. It's my hope to share the joy that this world has to offer.

Additional policies and FAQs
F A Q s
• Q: Can I buy a design exactly as shown in your shop?
• A: In most cases, my designs are custom-made for clients. Many of the listings in my shop include Photoshopped images of past designs to give an example of how the tattoo could look in real life. While I won’t be able to resell designs that were custom-made for past clients, I would love to work with you on a design that has your own personal touch!

For non-custom designs available to purchase as digital downloads, please view “Pre-made Tattoos” here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Pasadya?ref=seller-platform-mcnav§ion_id=25921901

• Q: Do you make temporary tattoos?
• A: I don’t make temporary tattoos - I’m sorry about that! All files are digital JPEG & PNG files which can be either printed or emailed directly to your tattoo artist.

• Q: Can you show me proofs before I make a payment?
• A: Because of the time that goes into each design, I begin working on designs once an order goes through. Thank you so much for your understanding! :)

• Q: Are your handwriting styles for sale as fonts online?
• A: Because all of my styles are designed by hand, they are not available as fonts online. I’d love to make a custom design with you, though! :)

• Q: What If I want to see a new style after receiving Round 1?
• A: I completely understand if you might like to compare any of the Round 1 options with another style! Because of the time that goes into creating Round 1, all edits for Round 2 are based off of any of the original options shown in Round 1. If you’d like to see a new style, I’m happy to create it for a minimal fee. Depending on the complexity of your design, I’ll be able to let you know the cost directly.

• Q: Can I see additional edits after Round 2?
• A: Absolutely! Depending on the changes you might like to see, I can let you know the cost directly.

• Q: Help! My tattoo appointment is soon! Can you speed up the process for my order?
• A: I definitely understand that designs are oftentimes time-sensitive, and I’d love to move your order to the front of my workload by putting it on a rush if my schedule allows. Depending on the complexity of your design, I can let you know the cost of the rush directly.! :)

• Q: I'm not sure about my design yet - can you help me brainstorm?
• A: Absolutely! In most cases, I’d love to brainstorm with you free of charge. If you might need heavier brainstorming that will require 30 minutes or more (i.e. choosing wording for your design, figuring out drawings to add to your design, etc.), I can help brainstorm for $30.

• Q: I love a tattoo that I saw online - can you draw it for me?
• A: Due to copyright and respect for other artists, I can’t base a drawing solely off of another person’s work. I can definitely make something with a similar feel, though!

• Q: This is my first tattoo - any advice?
• A: Yes, for sure! Here are my main tips:

• Size •
The smaller a tattoo is, the more likely small loops in letters like “a, e, o” etc. are to close up with ink spread over the years. So, the larger you can go, the less likely your tattoo will blur over time. Touch ups over the years can really help to keep your tattoo looking its best, too. :)

• Placement •
High rub areas (such as the hands & feet) tend to fade tattoos quickly, whereas areas with lower rubbing (like forearms & shoulder blades) tend to help with tattoo longevity.

• Sun Exposure •
Generally, tattoos last longer if the ink isn’t exposed to the sun. Sunscreen will definitely help over the years. :)

I M P O R T A N T:
• Tattoo Artist •
It’s so important to have a talented tattooist with a strong portfolio and a sanitary workspace ink your tattoo. The skill level of your tattoo artist can determine whether your tattoo will look like your final design, how small your tattoo can go, and the longevity of your tattoo.

I M P O R T A N T:
• Thin Tattoos •
If your tattoo has thin, dainty lines, I’d highly recommend going with a tattoo artist who specializes in either single needle or fine line (3 needles or less) tattoos. Thin lines unfortunately don’t allow for mistakes, and a seasoned, talented tattoo artist who has the skill set with thin lines will be the best match for these types of designs.

• Recommendations •
If you might need recommendations for any tattoo artists, please feel free to ask me! So many past clients who had beautiful outcomes have been kind enough to share who inked their tattoos, and I have a growing list of talented tattooists around the world. Based on your area, I’d love to give you any recommendations I might have!
