About

Fresh Pasta...Reviving a family tradition!

I grew up eating fresh pasta made by my mother and grandmother. I didn't think it was anything "special" because we had it all the time.

I lived with my parents and grandparents like many Italian families during the 1950's in a three family house where two of my mother's sisters also lived...the third sister lived only a few houses away! It was my mother, grandmother and three aunts who taught me how to make pasta.

We shared countless meals together around our dining room table, all of which featured some sort of fresh pasta. During the holidays the kitchen was transformed...like a commercial kitchen, tables were pushed against the wall and extra tables were set up to make room for all the preparations. My grandmother and her four daughters ran the kitchen like a Michelin star restaurant! They were organized, efficient and never got in each other's way. One aunt did all the shopping, the next did all the prepping and dish washing, the third managed the dining room preparations while my mother and grandmother were at the stove! There was always Italian music playing softly from the living room stereo and the five women sang along with the music as perfectly as they ran the kitchen! They would get together every night for at least a week before the holiday to prepare everything. A second refrigerator was revved up to hold the bounty of food waiting to serve up to forty guests for the holiday. An extension of the dining room table traveled through the dining room and well beyond into the living room to accommodate everyone. We were seated by rank. Grandparents and special guests sat at the head of the table with all the best china, linens and glassware, drifting down to the youngest whose places were set with the everyday dishes and glasses. We had fun down at the end of the table, laughing with our cousins and enjoying the magnificent feast prepared with so much enthusiasm and love!

After I was married and had my children, life became hectic as my husband and I ran a family business. Even though I always cooked a healthy dinner for them every night, making fresh pasta wistfully became a "special" occasion.

In 1998, while my children were in college, I visited Italy with them. It was a trip that changed my life. I felt an intense connection with the people, the lifestyle and the culture and having my children with me was the best part! We enjoyed fresh pasta just about every night for dinner and it was then that I realized just how much I missed it and how much better it was!!!
Since then I've been making pasta for my family and guests and they enjoy it immensely! Today, with so many mothers working full time, making pasta is more of a luxury than ever before! Now that I am retired and have time, I can make pasta for you!! So from my kitchen to yours, I send the joy and fulfillment of one of the oldest and most enjoyed foods in all the world. PASTA!!! Buon Appetito!

My grandmother came to the United States in 1910 when she was 19 years old with her mother, Carmela and sister, Laurentina. She taught me how to make pasta the old world way...by hand! I know you will love it as much as we do. BUON APPETITO!!
