New York Beauties, Mariners Compasses, Traditional Patterns and New Designs

Hello! Welcome to Patchmaker.

I'm a quilt designer, and all of the pieces you'll see at Patchmaker are designed, and stitched, by me. Piecing intricate quilts is a passion. Often my patterns are drawn by hand using a big sheet of paper and an old fashioned pencil and eraser. My templates are frequently just scraps of paper, used many times over.

Enclosed shapes suggest comfort and security to me, and so you will find a lot of circular or oval designs here. I also like flowing graceful curves, and try to work them in whenever I can. My favorite patterns include Mariner's Compass, and New York Beauty, although I am also drawn to the simplicity of the Modern Quilt movement.

I work a lot in batik fabrics, simply because of the intensity of colors. Solid black is my neutral for a lot of my pieces, as is solid white. There is always at least one bolt of each in my studio.

My house is filled with fabrics and fibers, antiques, music, and critters! The coffee pot is usually on, and there are piles of books everywhere. In addition to quilting, I'm an avid sock and hat knitter, and a beginning weaver.

You are welcome to contact me with any questions. I hope that you will visit often. Patchmaker quilts may also be found on Ebay, by entering "Patchmaker Quilts" in the search bar.

What if my item arrives damaged?

First, please take pictures of the packaging showing all damages so that a claim can be made with the post office. Then contact me so that we can discuss what to do next. Don't worry - I'm friendly!

What if my item doesn't arrive?

If your item doesn't arrive, let me know. Also, please check with your letter carrier. (They know us better than we think!) Check with neighbours in case it was delivered to them in error. Check with family members to see if they received it and forgot to let you know. If it doesn't show up, I will work with you to open a claim with the post office on your behalf.

What if I decide I don't want my item?

That's okay - minds can change! I accept returns for undamaged items. I want you to be happy, and I will return your purchase price, not including shipping.
