When I started my Embroidery journey, my stitch buddy and I traded tricks back and forth on personalizing everything- from baby onesies to kitchen towels. We had all the latest designs and fonts, but it just wasn't the WOW for me. Yes, I love making them for others and seeing their logo come to life on a garment and the pride of ownership when they got to wear their hard work on their chest, but I wanted that for my machines too.


When I discovered Free Standing Lace, that was my WOW moment! The fact that I could stitch on dissolvable fabric, wash it away and wear it as a crown, earrings, bracelet and beyond made my heart soar! To watch my embroidery machine stitch something out of just thread, take to to a bath of warm water and then wear it was like magic to me!


The best thing (to me) about embroidered jewelry and thread art is that there really are no limits! It can be made in any color, any shape, to match any dress or decor. My favorite is working with brides to be to design their perfect bridal party jewelry ensemble or a set of personalized wings to adorn an urn of a loved one that has recently passed. I recently took that one step further and made a set of zip up hoodies for the children that lost their father with the wings on the back so they could feel the loving embrace of their new angel every time they wear it.
