I'm Sarah Olding, the owner and operator of Pattern Runway. I've been sewing and pattern making most of my life. I’ve worked as a Design Assistant, Design, sewing + pattern teacher, and currently work as a Product Developer + Pattern Maker here in Australia. I love bringing an idea to life and love to see others enjoy making their own clothes.
ABOUT MY PATTERNS~
All Pattern Runway patterns are created by me and thoroughly tested for fit and accuracy before I make them available for sale. Designed and created from our HQ on the Gold Coast, Qld Australia. All patterns include seam + hem allowances and lengthen and shorten provision.
Our patterns + Instructions are available as a Digital file; a PDF, easily downloadable, and best viewed in Adobe Reader (free pdf viewer) or Acrobat. Our patterns can easily be printed on the home printer and are prepared to print on both A4 and US letter printer paper.
All our patterns are available as instant downloads. Patterns can only be downloaded, opened and printed from a computer, not smart devices – IPads, tablets or smartphones.
After purchasing a pattern, if you are confused or need help in any way, feel free to convo me!
I am so blessed to live where I do, its paradise, and at the high standard and freedom that I do. I acknowledge that not everyone in the world has what I do and so I like to help out where I can by supporting the following charities: World Vision + A21 Campaign. A portion of proceeds from pattern sales goes towards these two outstanding charities.

All pdf patterns and the designs those patterns are based on are copyright protected and may not be redistributed, reproduced, shared in any way, shape or form as your own.
RE-SELLING MY DESIGNS~
Patterns MAY NOT be resold in any form. This includes selling the digital file AND/OR selling a printed copy of the digital file. Patterns MAY NOT be offered for free in any forum, such as a blog or web forum.
Completed garments made from our patterns MAY NOT be sold without my direct permission. Please contact me if you would like to discuss this policy.
Accepted payment methods
Digital files can be downloaded immediately after checkout.
There is no shipping charge for digital files.
Refunds and Exchanges
Just to be very clear, I am NOT selling finished garments or a printed paper pattern. You will be purchasing a DIGITAL (PDF) pattern + instructions to make your own version of the garment shown. The photos in my listings are there to give you a clear idea of how the pattern looks when finished. If you ask for a refund because you were expecting a finished item in the mail, it will not be given.
If for any reason you are not happy with the pattern you receive, please let me know how I can fix the problem and I'll do my best to help.
Additional policies and FAQs
Q: What fabrics do you use for your samples?
Most of our garments are made from natural fibers where possible. We love to sew with silk and find it gives such a beautiful finish.
Q: Can I sell a garment I've made from a Pattern Runway pattern?
Unfortunately no. Our patterns are not for commercial use in anyway. If you like to sell garments made from our patterns, please contact us and we’ll sort out an arrangement.
Q: How do I print my Pattern?
Printing your patterns is pretty much just like printing any other document. Open the PDF in a PDF viewer (we recommend Adobe Reader or Acrobat). After choosing FILE then select PRINT. In the dialogue box make sure the print scale is 100%. Do not check SCALE TO FIT or FIT TO PAGE. Our patterns a laid out on a grid making matching the individual sheets a breeze. The grid, when printed should measure 2.5cm square or 1” square.
