About

PattyMara's Sacred Heart Cafe is a shop filled with felt, mica pottery and ceramics all made by me, signed with my potter's name Patch.

OK, I'm not a cafe, but I make very tasty art, delicious to look at and use every day. I put all of my heart into my art and know that when art is real, it can heal. My art will brighten your home and work space, and radiate with love.

I learned to be a potter in the early seventies at UC Santa Cruz and have had my hands in clay ever since, and still sign my pots "Patch", my college nickname. I love working with the mica clay of northern New Mexico. My pottery is functional and healthy for your body. Mica clay is unlike any other clay for cooking, baking, eating and drinking.

Since moving to northern New Mexico near Taos, I am felting. My felted CatCaves are popular homes for over a hundred happy cats, and the number increases as more cat people (and some small dog people) discover how much their cats love sleeping in my catcaves.

I make Medicine Spirit Dolls, melding clay and felting. Each has its own Medicine Story, collage book and holy card.

I live along the Rio Grande Gorge in northern New Mexico, near Taos. My pottery studio is in my greenhouse & my painting/felting/collage studio is the second story of our adobe home. I love to sing, fish (catch and release mostly!) and garden.

Additional policies and FAQs
Wholesale orders: I make all of my art, with no helpers, therefore wholesale orders are only possible during my non-holiday times and I can only offer a 20 - 40% discount based on quantity ordered. However, I'd love to hear from you about your needs and hopefully I can fill those needs.

CUSTOM ORDERS

I have over thirty years of experience making custom orders for individuals and nonprofit/corporate clients.
The process for ordering a custom item is:
1. You contact me, and we talk about what you are envisioning. I can let you know what is possible, and will strive to create your hearts desire.
2. We work together to create a "design agreement" which specifies the colors, design imagery, size, due date, cost, shipping. When we have come to an understanding about this design agreement, I will list a custom order in my shop just for you.
3. You place the custom order listing in your cart and send payment.
4. When I receive a notice that you have completed the payment transaction, I will begin the order and send it to you by the due date, as we agreed.
5. If you are not satisfied with the final art, talk to me. I will do whatever I can to assure your satisfaction, unless it involves something different from our design agreement. Sometimes, misunderstandings happen. I try to be super-specific during the design process with you to avoid these misunderstandings, but sometimes they slip through the cracks! I will do all I can to honor our design agreement and if you are not totally satisfied, we can discuss a refund or a discount. My customers in the past have been very happy, even ecstatic, about their custom orders, so I have great confidence that I can include *you* in that happy group.
