Announcement   Welcome to our little shop window of curious and cute animal characters.
Soft sculpture art in vintage textiles.
We hope that the characters you find here will make you smile...

My parents owned an antique shop and were avid antique collectors themselves so I grew up surrounded by lots of beautiful and interesting treasures.
I loved the toy cupboard which was filled with old teddy bears and soft toy animals in among these was a tiny miniature Schuco teddy bear made in the 1930's.
I was fascinated by its size and charm and it was this little chap that inspired me to begin making miniature teddy bears.
We aim to recreate a look of well loved and cherished companions. With the Teddy Bears we still adore the look of early old antique bears from Germany and ours have all the attributes of those traditional bears with long arms and spoon shaped paws, center seam noses, boot button eyes and with a slight raised hump on the back.
Our animal character studio designs are made from our own sculpts and metal molds.Dressed in antique fabrics, trims and buttons. We even make their shoes from glove leather and hand stitch them with leather soles.
We are delighted that a large collection of our designs are on display at the wonderful toys world spielzeug-welten-museum-Basel Switzerland and the Izu Museum Tokyo Japan.
Thank you for visiting our little shop of characters.x
Warm wishes
Paula & Simon

About

Curious and cute animal characters soft sculpture art in vintage textiles.

Welcome to our little shop window of curious and cute animal characters.
We hope that the characters you find here will make you smile...

Every character is created with lots of care.We are always thinking about the details.
We sculpt each character and make our own unique molds which are inside each design. Stitching and sewing each piece using antique velvet, mohair fur and vintage plush.

Then the dressing up begins...we like sailor suits in antique linen, Scottish tweed trousers or Vintage velvet waistcoats finished with antique buttons.
Each design we create has our own sculpted leather shoes, boots or slippers that are hand stitched with leather soles.
Finishing off with lots silk fabric cravats, bow ties, leather bags and silk plush top hats.

Some of our animal characters can be found at the wonderful
Spielzeug Welten Museum Basel Switzerland.
