About

Peace of Grace Designs: handmade jewelry and rosaries

My first beading project developed after I selected a silver crucifix in Italy on a family vacation. When we returned home, I linked the crucifix to fiber optic coral beads from a tiny bead shop. The store was nondescript and I had driven by it multiple times, unaware of what treasures could be discovered inside. The store clerk explained how to use small pieces of wire to connect each bead. Using tools from Dad's garage, I joined each bead to the next, and eventually, my first rosary was complete. Since that first piece, I have sought attractive, innovative ways to design and hand make rosaries and jewelry. As Peace of Grace Designs grew, I expanded my line to include rings and medical alert bracelets. My current projects involve polymer clay and fashioning jewelry from upcycled materials.

I use materials that catch my eye. I gravitate towards orange and coral, natural gemstones and wooden beads. I like smooth cut stones, copper chain, and something with an unexpected sparkle.

When I'm not creating jewelry, I am with my handsome & funny husband, logging miles in my running shoes through luscious farmland or attempting to nurture vegetables out of my own garden.

A souvenir crucifix from Italy, beads from a local shop & pliers from Dad's tool box became my first handmade rosary. A necklace & trip to a new bead shop became a passion as well as a new job. 7 years later, my shop echos my designs & experiences.
