After almost 30 years as a receptionist/switchboard operator/clerk, my position was eliminated in January 2013. It was finally time to bring my artistic talents to the fore.

Throughout my life, if I couldn't find what I wanted, I'd make it. Due to that, I've delved into or been formally trained in different realms of the arts: painting, refinishing & faux-finishing furniture, sewing, embroidery, white-work, stenciling, singing belle canto, quilling, contra & folk dancing, beading, & other crafts. Based on those experiences, needs & wants, I drew upon inspiration for my shop. I had always wanted to work in the arts! I finally get to!

I am of Polish ancestry where peacock feathers are found in national folk dress. They are all over my house! Also loving art glass, rich color, and iridescence, I couldn't help but name my shop from the phrase "proud as a peacock"!

When designing my eclectic, beaded, fashion jewelry, never following trends, I strive to create feelings of beauty & confidence for its wearer. The better you feel about yourself, the better you will live & work, in general. On top of that, some of these pieces can take you all the way from the office through the evening, without skipping a beat!
You will find beaded jewelry in some fancy magazines, however, in my shop, they are handmade, without the super high prices, and with the bonus of one-of-a-kind.

I design & make the jewelry & signs. When shipping, I re-use cardboard & packaging saved from items shipped to me. Why buy new when I can save you money and some of the environment?

Besides all of that, my husband is a meteorologist, & we have 2 cats, Newt & Tribble Other interests include reading, history, folk and contra dancing, & jigsaw puzzles.
