About

Safety that is Affordable and Beautiful

As a person with various medical conditions and who takes multiple medications, it's important that I wear a medical ID tag in case of emergencies and I'm unresponsive. Especially since I'm Autistic and will often be non-verbal when in distress.

However, I found that most typical medical jewelry is either glaringly obvious, or else really expensive. While I want to keep myself safe, I also cannot afford to pay $50+ for a bracelet.

I also found that while fashionable medical jewelry is lovely, they aren't always durable. Many bracelets I've worn have chipped and gotten scratched, if not outright broke.

So I decided to make my own. My aim was to make strong, durable, but beautiful medical bracelets that are affordable and can be worn on a daily basis.

Through trial and error, I picked out nylon coated stainless steel wire, strong enough to hold about 40lbs of weight, yet light and flexible. I looked for glass pearl beads, and designed my own bracelets. Then I tested them out.

I wore them, for a good couple of months. I wore them to work, where they got banged against counters, glass and other objects. I wore them when I helped a friend move, carrying large and heavy boxes. I worn them in the shower, I wore them washing dishes and when I washed my hands. I purposely got them wet and lent one to a friend to wear while swimming in the pool. I let my cat chew on them.

I wanted a bracelet that I would wear, that would hold up to my lifestyle.

After I accomplished this, I discovered many people complimenting my bracelets. So I decided to share them with the world.
