About

All about Whitecrow Art and Jewelry

Pearl Whitecrow is a visionary creatrix living and working in the beautiful Oak hills and plains of North Eastern Oklahoma. She is a trained silversmith and a self taught painter.

She walks a path that is scientific, magickal, animistic/shamanic, the path of the artist, the dreamer, the mystic, the visionary, the medicine road. She is an irreverent Joker, a fan of life, love and giving and embraces the path of the Creatrix, The Fool and The Medicine Woman. She is a Truth seeker and a Beauty chaser.

She spends her days at her easel as her altar, channeling symbolic visions into medicine to share with the world, playing and enjoying friends, family and the turn of the seasons on a small, spiritually oriented artists commune on a farm in rural Oklahoma.

ARTISTS STATEMENT:

I prefer to take what could be called a Shamanic perspective and a Jungian attitude and embrace the archetypes as fundamental starting points as definers for individualism and where the individual is at on The Path of Life. I consider myself to be a student of the Universe and study and find wisdom throughout many traditions across world cultures. I utilize archetypes and symbolism to visually express the messages and visions that I channel. My soul mission is to bring good medicine to the people, to learn and to teach good wisdom and to be a life long student of Nature.

As an artist and a medicine person, I source my visual symbolism from many cultures, believing that we are all one and different cultures bring different wisdom to the table. I am deeply inspired by the natural world, which I see not only as the ultimate law-giver, but as our greatest teacher. I find inspiration in sacred geometry, science, poetry, good stories and myths, the changing landscape of the Earth Herself and all of our Brothers and Sisters, be they mineral, plant, elemental, four legged, winged or two legs.

I see the human creature as part God/dess and part Animal, part mind and part heart, and I believe that reconciling and honoring these parts of ourselves is essential. I rejoice in our uniquely human ability to comprehend symbolism and to imagine, I rejoice in our animal selfs ability to adapt and flow with the natural world and to live from the heart. I honor the rational mind, and I honor the feeling heart that connects us to Spirit.

I hope that with my work, I can invite people to accept and rejoice in their individuality as well as their Oneness with All, to step into their God/dess Self and to honor their animal nature. To celebrate and appreciate where they are on their life path and foster appreciation and respect for the life paths of others that may be very different. I want to rejoice in our variety of Self and life experiences and to share that joy in variety.

In essence, my work is about expressing the highest potential of the macrocosm of human society in the microcosm of the individual. It is about honoring and accepting ourselves as individuals and accepting responsibility for ourselves. It is about seeking and embracing one-ness with the universe, ourselves, each other and the Men and Women around us as WHOLE MEN AND WOMEN, without the fetters of shame, guilt and fear. There is no need to choose between the Right Hand Path of One-ness and the Left Hand Path of Individualism, I believe that both are necessary. Balance. Harmony.

We are all sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, wild women, wild men, warriors, amazons, wizards and crones. We are facets of a shimmering mystery that is only beginning to be realized anew. We are Gods and Goddesses. We are facets of The Creator experiencing a corporeal existence on this Earth, our school.

With my primary focus on NATURE and my secondary focus on WOMEN, I see that we are ALL quite capable of wearing many different 'hats'. It is not only about accepting who we are, it is about rejoicing in our variety. Can a woman have multiple P.H.d's, be a sultry sex-pot AND be a mother? Yes. Certainly. And why not? Can a society be smart, creative, productive, peaceful, spiritual AND hedonistic to some degree?

In essence, my work is about expressing the highest potential of the macrocosm of society in the microcosm of a woman. It is about seeking and embracing one-ness with the universe, ourselves, each other and the Men around us as WHOLE WOMEN, as Queens of Creation without the fetters of shame, guilt and fear. We are all daughters, sisters, mothers, wild women, amazons and crones. We are facets of a shimmering mystery that is only beginning to be realized anew. We are Goddess.
