Art for positive reflection

Initially, I pursued expressing my love of "places and things" Beach scenes, flowers, and mountains were some of the things I was most inspired by. As the years have gone by, that has changed, and although I do not love the beach or flowers less, I have been focusing on aspects of those things such as the power of the waves to move the sand, the way the colors of the forest in spring go together so beautifully, the amazing hues of the petals of a flower, accented by mysterious shadows, or the way the breeze makes the flower heads bob as though in happy conversation.

In addition, I now find color, texture, light and the blending of these in new and interesting ways inspire me in ways I never would have expected years ago. This and other discoveries about the painting process itself have changed not only how I design my paintings but how I find meaning within those paintings that go beyond a visual experience. It's become a lot more about getting onto canvas the sensory experience in part or whole: of the power of the waves on the ocean, of smelling roses, reveling how it felt to be on top of a tall mountain. My art is now about more than simply the visual but also the sensory experience. This changes how I want to design my paintings. It's become a lot more about giving the viewer the chance to experience personally what I see and inspires my sense of awe. I count it as a success if I hear a patron say “I feel like I can hear the breeze”, or “I can almost smell those flowers.” It's now also about sbaring the experience. This is the reason this artist loves to create art.

I'm primarily a painter. I paint scenes & objects from nature that bring joy and peace. They are my "happy place". My goal is to bring that "happy place" to others to have joy everyday. I am happy to paint commissions. Convo me to for your art needs.
