Hi Judith, This self-tanner is known for being very dark! I use it often, and always have a very dark, brown tan. As to why you have not experienced the same color, that is very odd! There may be a few reasons for this that I can think of: 1. Make sure that your skin is clean and exfoliated with no lotion etc. If you are using lotion before applying this, the color may not stick to your skin as much, and may just mix into the lotion. 2. Make sure to use plenty of product! The more product you use, the darker your results will be. I make sure to use a couple of pumps of product per part of my body. I am always happy to work with customers to ensure that they are happy with their purchases, but it seems as though there is no actual issue with the product here. Perhaps these were purchased as a gift for a female, and the gift is no longer needed?
