About

Pepperberry Knits offers the highest quality cashmere yarn partnered with patterns that are fashionable, intuitive and natural for knitters

We are no longer selling items on Etsy. Sorry for the inconvenience. You can find us on social media sites and our website!

When Pepperberry Knits founder Heidi Hennessy first started knitting with cashmere over a decade ago, she knew there was no going back.

The hand and feel was extraordinary.

Unsatisfied by the monochromatic colors of factory produced yarn, she began experimenting with her own color ways by hand plying single strand cashmere on her trusty Ashford Tradition spinning wheel. What turned out was a stunning yarn that gave even the simplest projects a richness of character and depth of color. Word got out among her local knitting community and not too long after she was selling her exclusive yarn to hand knitters around the world.

Today, Pepperberry Knits still creates its 100% cashmere yarn in the same tradition of how it all started. Our highest quality fiber is hand plied in our studio in sunny Boise, ID giving each skein personal attention and hands on care. A tenacious eye for detail and texture guides the pattern designer to bring you inspired fashion, with clean, intuitive and fresh design. Pepperberry Knits strives to deliver highest quality cashmere yarn partnered with patterns that are fashionable, intuitive and natural for hand knitters to work.

Special thanks to the person who told you about Pepperberry Knits.

Like them…we too think you’ll never go back.

Thanks for visiting Pepperberry Knits.

Entrepreneurship is in my DNA. When I was little my mother taught people to paint in her garage studio. She was a frequent vendor at all the local craft shows and made guest appearances on local crafting TV shows. She was not just an artist but an entrepreneur.

Following her footsteps, I began as a young mom showcasing my craft wares in the local shows, teaching and speaking to women's groups as a guest crafter. I've owned a florist business and a wedding planning and design business.

Several years ago I discovered that I could knit. My first project was gloves - full fingers, knit on DPNs! No one ever told me to start with a scarf! To my delight, I found that I am a natural. I completely get knitting...I can read in knitting code for days, I adore luxury fiber, my home library is all knitting books, I dream in knitting, I wish it was Winter all year so I could cozy up in cashmere.

Which brings me to Pepperberry Knits. Pepperberry Knits is about fiber and design. In my etsy store you will find 100% cashmere recycled yarn. This cashmere is processed organically and hand plied on my trusty Ashford Traditional spinning wheel. Also offered are my favorite original knit patterns and personally knit garments and luxury items.

Enjoy!
