Where to start?! Roy is a semi-retired minister, who has been preaching since he was 19 (a long time!) and making things since he was a kid. I, Susan, am a homemaker want to be, but for now I own a cleaning company and create when I can. I am the daughter of a marvelous artist, but got just enough of my dad’s genes to be creative and crafty.

We each suffered the loss of a spouse many years ago, and joined our families together well into the process. Together we have 2 sons, 3 daughters, 2 daughter-in-laws, 1 son-in-law, 4 grandsons, and 1 granddaughter (and great anticipation for more to come!)

Roy’s parents now live on the property with us in Alabama (transplanted from Kentucky when they just couldn’t take the winters anymore) and mine live in town, just 20 minutes away.

We live in a little two story cabin that we built ourselves. No, really! We started with standing trees, and with the aid of a sawmill, the three daughters, mom and dad, other family, friends, blood, sweat, tears, a broken finger (only 1!), and every second of our free time for 18 months, we moved into our cozy little cabin. We’d spent exactly 24 months living in a 32’x8’ camper with each other and 3 teenaged girls.

We both enjoy making things, especially from things that would go to waste otherwise. Roy’s favorite thing right now is working with reclaimed wood. I love so many different styles, but settled on a cabin feel for my own decor, so this is an outlet for me to enjoy creating with all the other beautiful looks.
