About PersimmonPuzzles

Sales 220
On Etsy since 2010

I love jigsaw puzzles!

My dad started giving me wooden jigsaw puzzles when I was a kid. I've collected them ever since - love putting them together - and always thought I'd like to cut puzzles.

I have an Excaliber scroll saw in my Sequim studio, and I can cut any size puzzle, even up to 1000 pieces!

Hand cut wooden jigsaw puzzles are such a pleasure to work on. Several generations can do them together and they make great heirlooms. My goal is to make beautiful hand cut wooden jigsaw puzzles available to everyone to further the love and enjoyment of this wonderful pastime!

Welcome to my puzzling world!. I make fine handmade wooden jigsaw puzzles and I believe they should be available to everyone, even those with a low budget. Accordingly, I have sizes and price ranges that allow a variety of buyers to shop here. Promoting the love of good wooden jigsaw puzzles is my primary goal.

It is helpful when you order a puzzle to leave a note about what you expect...whether it's for a kid or family, or you want it tough as the dickens! I put a small picture of the puzzle on the inside of the box cover for those who prefer to see what they're putting together. I want my puzzles to make you chuckle, maybe swear a little (yes, it's OK to curse the cutter), and overall be enjoyable to put together. All requests are granted to the best of my abilities at no extra cost!

You will notice that each listing gives an estimate of how many pieces will be in your puzzle. As each puzzle is individually hand cut with no pre-planning or pattern, it is impossible to know exactly how many pieces will be in each one. When I say 100-150 pieces, you may get anywhere in that range, and occasionally more or fewer pieces than estimated. Sometimes the puzzles themselves speak to me and insist on being cut a certain way and I just go with the flow. Each is a work of art and I am confident you will love your puzzle no matter how many pieces are in it.

It is very difficult to repair puzzle pieces. If a knob breaks off on your puzzle piece, I recommend using white glue and glueing the broken piece into the hole it would have fit into rather than trying to glue it back on to its stem. Your puzzle will still be enjoyable. Also if a bit of the paper lifts, use a toothpick to glue it back down with white glue. You can VERY carefully use a colored felt tip pen to "re-color" a bit of frayed edge.

Wear and tear is normal with a jigsaw puzzle so it's best to treat it gently when putting together and especially when taking it apart. Please don't let your little kids play with the pieces - they would be hazardous if swallowed...and if you have a rascally cat or dog, be sure to cover the puzzle you're working on at night and when you're not home. (Voice of experience here.) And please store it in the special puzzle box it comes in.

I am always available and happy to have a convo or email chat with you in order to make buying a Persimmon Puzzle an enjoyable experience...so don't hesitate to ask questions.

Returns and exchanges
Your puzzle is insured during shipping. Once a puzzle is shipped, I do not give refunds. If there is damage, please let me know and we can work out a solution.
Payment
I accept payment by paypal and credit cards. Gift cards are available. I don't start a puzzle until payment is made. Cancellations or changes (like if you decide you want a different image than the one you ordered) are acceptable within 3 days of the initial order. If you have a serious problem, please contact me and I can work something out.

You will have to pay shipping for each puzzle you order, but if I can combine several for shipping and it costs less than you paid, I will refund the difference.

International customs and any other costs involved with international orders must be paid by the buyer.
Shipping
Listed shipping to the United States is by USPS Priority Mail.

Listed shipping to Canada and Mexico, is by International First Class Mail. Delivery is estimated at 6-10 days.

Listed shipping to Everywhere Else is by International First Class Mail. Delivery is estimated at 7-21 days.

If you would like to have your puzzle shipped by International Priority Mail, please contact me for the price. According to my post office, the first class mail usually goes out at the same time as priority, or within a day or two. They load priority first, then first class until the truck is full and the next day the process is repeated. I have found it is almost as fast to use first class on international orders. However, I am happy to send by priority if you want to pay for it.
Additional policies and FAQs
My puzzles are one of a kind and I usually only cut any given image once or twice. However, If you see a puzzle in the shop and then it disappears before you buy it, don't hesitate to contact me. I can print and cut another of the same size and price.

If you want a number of puzzles the same size and price for party favors and the like, please contact me to discuss this. When I do this type of job, I like to vary the images while keeping to the size and price requested. This is a fun idea for a ladies luncheon or Christmas dinner party. One customer bought four different little vintage santa party favor puzzles and gave them to her granddaughter for Christmas...all together in one box. Cute!

If you would like a custom puzzle with your own photo on it, please contact me. Also contact me if you want a different size from that listed. Any image can be printed smaller, and many can be made into larger puzzles.

I always include at least 3 whimsies in each puzzle. If you want special whimsies, please let me know when you order so I can personalize your puzzle. I recommend NO whimsies when you want a very tricky puzzle as they do make it easier to put together...but if you want them, I'll put them in!

I do make puzzles for kids and there are always some listed. I make a lot of puzzles for grandparents and grandchildren to work on together. These are always made with a good variety of kid friendly shapes and sizes so there's something for everyone. Wooden jigsaw puzzles are great for multiple generations to enjoy together!

I am developing a section of puzzles that are already cut and can be shipped within a day or two. Mostly I do "made to order" to give you a chance to choose the image, but if you need one right away check out the "ready to ship" section.

I do not do wholesale orders. At the present time I sell only from this etsy shop.
