Announcement   CERAMICS FOR LIFE. Handmade stoneware ceramics for kitchen and home.

I'm a potter living in Denver working in high-fired stoneware to create functional tableware and serving pieces that are for use and display. Working full-time, I produce six bodies of work a year. Each body of work offers me the opportunity to explore new ideas and refine existing ones. I’m intrigued by the marriage of form and decoration. In striving to integrate these in each pot, I have the opportunity to create work that is both timeless and modern.

My pots are either thrown, thrown and altered, or hand-built. To achieve visual depth in my patterns, I employ five different elements. Four of these--wax resist, latex, dipping, and brushwork--are applied to bisqued pots. The pots are then high-fired in a heavy reduction atmosphere with the intent of trapping carbon in the base glaze. It is this trapped carbon that is the fifth and random element.

Work for sale on Etsy includes first-quality work of the kind found in galleries, work that isn't quite gallery quality but is without flaws, experimental pieces, and second-quality work that will be indicated as such.

Each pot is designed to serve a functional purpose and is food safe and compatible with modern appliances. For detailed pottery care, please visit my website at www.peterkarnerpottery.net and click on the "Pottery Care" link on the About page.

For more information on me, upcoming shows and events, and to view a gallery of my previous work, please visit www.peterkarnerpottery.net.

Feel free to convo me with any questions. Thanks for visiting!

Cheers,
PK

WELCOME TO PETER KARNER POTTERY: Ceramics for life. Handmade stoneware ceramics for kitchen and home.

ABOUT ME:
I'm a potter living in Denver working in high-fired stoneware to create functional tableware and serving pieces that are for use and display. Working full-time, I produce six bodies of work a year. Each body of work offers me the opportunity to explore new ideas and refine existing ones. I’m intrigued by the marriage of form and decoration. In striving to integrate these in each pot, I have the opportunity to create work that is both timeless and modern.

ABOUT MY WORK:
My pots are either thrown, thrown and altered, or hand-built. To achieve visual depth in my patterns, I employ five different elements. Four of these--wax resist, latex, dipping, and brushwork--are applied to bisqued pots. The pots are then high-fired in a heavy reduction atmosphere with the intent of trapping carbon in the base glaze. It's this trapped carbon that is the fifth and random element.

Prompt payment is required. If payment has not been received within 72 hours (3 days), your order will be cancelled and item(s) will be relisted. If you require more time, please convo me so we can discuss details.

NOTE TO COLORADO RESIDENTS: I'm required to charge Colorado state sales tax, which will be applied to your order.

NOTE TO DENVER, CO RESIDENTS: I'm required to charge Denver city sales tax in addition to Colorado state sales tax.

NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL CLIENTS: You are responsible for paying any customs, duties, tariffs, taxes and/or additional fees levied by your country for shipments coming from the United States.
Shipping
*****IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT SHIPPING*****
The etsy platform requires each piece to have its own shipping charge.

IF YOU LIVE LOCALLY IN DENVER and would like to pick up the work, I'll reimburse you any shipping costs charged at the time of purchase. Please leave a note letting me know you’d like to pick up the work in the “Note to Seller” section.

IF YOU PURCHASE MORE THAN ONE PIECE AND WANT WORK SHIPPED, I'll consolidate items into as few boxes as possible and reimburse your credit card any difference between the amount charged and the actual shipping cost.

For instance, say you order one tumbler and one bud vase. Each has a shipping charge of $15 which will show in your shopping cart as a total shipping cost of $30. However, since I can fit them both into one box, the shipping charge is actually only $15, so I would reimburse your credit card the other $15.
