About

Phoenix Threadworks: Rising from the ashes with style.

On April 15th, 2011 I went to my doctor to talk about what I should do to start preparing to have a baby. Instead, she told me I had breast cancer. My husband came home to tell me he had lost his job. That was a bad day. However, one year later, I'm happy to say I am cancer free! While I was going through chemo, though, I had such a hard time finding head coverings that didn't make me look like an old lady. I didn't want anyone else to go through the same thing so I asked for a sewing/embroidery machine for Christmas and got to work. I hope people enjoy my pieces. I put a lot of love into them. I called the shop Phoenix Threadworks because my husband and I call my rehabilitation Project Phoenix. Just making these items is therapeutic for me and selling them will feel even better!

I am a 35 year old, 1 year breast cancer survivor. I decided to start making and selling my own headgear after looking in vain for fun and funky things to cover my head. I hope survivors and non cancer patients of all ages love my products!
