Welcome to my Etsy store! I'm a fine art photographer, poet and product designer with a passion for capturing the play of light on flowers and foliage, and celebrating their subtlety or boldness of colour, pattern and texture. I am also drawn to unusual landscape scenes and heritage locations.

I work hard to consider the environment when creating my products, - read more in the product details.

I have created a range of prints, wall art, cards, notecards, accessories and homeware that I believe will bring a smile to your day.

In the words of one of my customers:

"I love my picture so much, - every morning when I come down to breakfast I say 'hello' to that big, beautiful pink flower. It just makes me smile." [Pretty in Pink, Canvas Print]

Read more in my 'about' section at the link above, or scroll to the bottom of this page. Find out what my logo means!

Thank you for visiting my Etsy store. I'm always developing new products and capturing new images - so why not favourite my store and visit again?

About

More about PhotoHaiku

As children, we connect with nature instinctively. I can still recall vividly the simple joy I felt when encountering the beauty of the flowers, plants and creatures in the world around me. As we grow older. the gap between ourselves and the natural world seems to widen, and we can easily forget that we are an integral part of that world, - inseparable from it.

As I walk out with my camera, I am re-connecting and experiencing moments of awakening with nature and capturing images to share with you.

In my shop, as well as my unique, Zen-inspired haiku pieces, you will find cards, prints, stationery, accessories and homeware that take their inspiration from hedgerows, gardens, woodlands and heritage locations. Much of my work is captured in my own county of Derbyshire - a county rich in natural beauty.

So, what's my logo about? My logo reads 'haiku' in Japanese - a Japanese haiku is traditionally a short, meditative, three-line poem.

My 'PhotoHaiku' concept uses my own original Japanese-style haiku poems overlaid onto my photographic fine art images, creating meditative pieces that aim to evoke a sense of stillness, contemplation and wellbeing, inspired by the Japanese 'Zen' Buddhist tradition. My logo acts like a 'chop' in these pieces, which is a kind of signature. Traditional haiku poems are seasonal and nature-based with three lines and the syllable pattern five-seven-five. They are not easy to write well - have a go! Follow me on Twitter where I often post haiku poems with my images - @PhotoHaikuArt.

Much of my work has Zen at its heart, whether I incorporate haiku into the designs, or simply aim to evoke this through the impression my photographs and designs bring.

My prints and homeware can look great in both period and modern interiors because of their freshness and strength of composition, colour and detail.

My prints are archival quality, meaning they won’t fade. Printing is done by a small family business in the UK and mounts and backing boards are sourced in the UK and are professional quality.

Cushions are all manufactured in the UK using sustainable manufacturing processes.

Cards purchased support the work of the Woodland Trust's 'Woodland Carbon' project via my print supplier and are printed on either recycled card stock or carbon capture card stock.
