Fun journey from quilting into design and retail.
Quilting has been an important part of my life for the past decade and a half. In 2013, I started blogging about my quilting passion at www.piecedbrain.com. In 2014, I decided to go back to school after 20 years to earn my Master's degree in Instructional Design at the University of Utah. It was a fantastic experience, although not too easy as I had teenagers at home and a grandbaby already!
In 2015, in the midst of my studies, I began to offer my quilt designs to magazines. Before I knew it, my quilts were being featured nationally in magazines and books. In 2016, right after graduating, I attended my first Quilt Market, being held in Salt Lake City. There, I met with fabric manufacturers who saw my work and... well, the rest is history.
Today, I design quilt patterns under the Pieced Brain label and sell them here, have had my quilts showcased in printed media and on the websites of the fabric manufacturers, who are my major clients.
On Etsy, Pieced Brain offers quilt patterns, ready quilts, fabrics, and fabric bundles I put together mixing beautiful high-quality quilting fabrics. I often will handpick an inspiration fabric and all its companions to offer a package ready to be cut and sewn by quilters of every skill level, using my patterns or their favorite ones.
Have fun shopping!
