About

I love playing with linen, cotton, wool, yarn, felt, beads, color, texture

I love to create items using beautiful wools, silks, linens and cottons using any method; crochet, knitting, sewing, felting....

I work from my home in a space surrounded by my son's paintings. He is starting to join in as a member of my shop, so paintings will be added to the array of items for sale.

Some of my favorite gorgeous yarns come from Uruguay; you will find them in many of my items, especially the weavings.

Manos del Uruguay is one favorite:
"Since its foundation, Manos del Uruguay has been deeply committed towards the social and economic development of the rural women.
This was acknowledged by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), by appointing Manos as a member in 2009." -from the manos website

Malabrigo yarn is another favorite:
"malabrigo employs mostly women of all ages, and always tries to give job opportunities to people that have fewer opportunities than the average."
Fibers
"Most of malabrigo yarns are made with 100% Uruguayan Merino wool. Uruguay has one of the biggest wool supplies in the world, and a very, very good wool with regards to softness.
Our wool is 100% produced by uruguayan farms that allow their sheep to go free-range through the hills and are herded by actual old-style shepherds.

I recently discovered Nani Iro, a Japanese fabric line. It makes great bento bags! I love making these bento bags and am using a pattern I adapted from a
lunch bag pattern in Akiko Mano's
wonderful little book "Linen Wool Cotton".
It's a little different shape from many of the more triangular
bento bag patterns.
