Playing with dolls and stuffed animals is one of my first memories of childhood. I was 6 years old when I got my first doll on my birthday. Although I liked playing with the doll, there was something missing. The doll only had one pair of clothing but nothing else. I wished for a dress, accessories, a bed and a dollhouse, so I made a doll bed and a house out of cardboard and used a towel as a blanket. For clothing, I used felt because that was easy to work with.

My interest for sewing grew when my grandmother showed me how to use her antique foot pedal oparated sewing machine. "I used to be a seamstress for kimono", she used to tell me proudly. I learned sewing basics from her but for the most part I'm self-taught.

At age 18, I moved to the US by myself. I went to a college full time and worked a part time. For a longtime I didn't have time for a hobby even though I always missed sewing. One day I got married and got pregnant with my first child, Carina, I started sewing again like crazy.

After my husband was retired for having an illness, I looked for something I could do to help my husband financially. Staying home to take care of my kids was my first priority. In 2015, I began selling handmade doll accessories on Etsy. The name Pinkie comes from Carina, who was little and chose pink for everything. Pink is the magical color for a girl who dreams to be a little princess! Operating one woman business has been a challenge, but I look forward to work everyday.
