Short History

Ergi grew out of a passion for old methods of garment construction and need for a unique combination of styles and sources of inspiration, into a fully fledged business.
In the autumn of 2006 Ergi by Piratessan clothing became available for sale on its own website, and two years later the first store to carry Ergi as one of their brands opened in Sweden.

The basic concept of the brand is to combine new and old, to take the silhouettes and richness of details of the old and in a playful way make them into something new.
The main sources of inspiration are the Baroque era, Rococo, Japanese Gothic & Lolita, Victorian menswear, Alice in Wonderland, Airships... and Pirates!

Eva Dejmo (Piratessan herself)

A self-taught designer and seamstress, who started selling clothes while still in high school. She learned to sew by working her way through history, setting off with the simplest medieval and viking style constructions, all the way through to today. By trying the methods used through history out herself she learned why things evolved as they did, how fabrics can be used, and how the ideas of fashion flows through time. Besides her passion for costume history, she loves Japanese Gothic & Lolita fashion, and is a pirate at heart. Eva dreams of journeys at sea or in the air, but she gets seasick even without waves, and is terribly afraid of heights...

Eva is mainly responsible for anything regarding the site and manufacturing etc. etc.
