So beautiful, and was kind enough to rush the shipping on my order. Feels lovely in the hands, and comes on the cutest spoil. Meringue color is a soft, warm cream, perfectly matched to my ivory bridal gown and does not appear “dirty” or “too yellow” whatsoever. Highly recommend this store. This ribbon will wrap my bridal bouquet and then be saved to pass down in the family as an heirloom. Thank you, thank you.

The ribbon has got a very very nice material and colour. Fast response, but not very anxious to help. Very long delivery and high custom duty on top. So in the end- i would not order again

Christina, I am very sorry that you had such a poor experience with the mail. As I mentioned in our messages, as much as I wish that I could, I cannot control what happens to my ribbons once they are in the hands of the post office and as mentioned in all Etsy shops, we cannot control customs fees on international packages. I did track the package for you, which is really all I can do from my end. I do think that it is rather unfair of you to give a poor review based on factors outside of my control, particularly if you were actually happy with the product itself. I hate to have unhappy customers and always will do whatever I can to help a customer out, but I really don't know what else I could have done to make this a better experience for you. kind regards, Susanna

I’ve been craving the “almond power” smoothie I had when we were recently in California. It was sooo good and from a cute local cafe with the nicest owners...
Couldn't resist playing a bit with this latest batch of red silk ribbon. The colour makes me smile every time. Can you believe this comes from waste sawdust?! ♡

About

luxe silk ribbons, table runners, styling fabric and napkins, hand-dyed in small batches with colours derived from plants and trees.

Oh, hi!

What started as a search for the right shade of blue ribbon to wrap bridal bouquets for a wedding I was working on quickly developed into an obsession with creating the most beautiful colours with natural dyes that I could find. Now it has developed into a fully fledged new branch of my business as more and more people seem to share my passion for gorgeous colours and well-made silk ribbons and textiles.
My ribbons are made by hand in small batches in my studio. I use natural dyes that vary from wood pulp, natural elements, teas and even earth. All of my sources for colours and materials are as sustainable as possible and all are non-toxic.
Not only does it feel good to be running a business with deeply eco-friendly values, I find that the natural colours are far richer, ore beautiful and more nuanced than conventional, artificial dyes.

Nettle's textiles have been featured on wedding and style blogs like 100 Layer Cake, Ruffled and Perfect Palette.

Each batch is a lovingly made, unique work of art. Our store motto is 'Infused with Love'.

Thanks for visiting!

All of my products are hand crafted in small batches by me in my studio - including the wooden spools which ship with every order. I only use natural dyes, derived from plants and earth and sourced from the most sustainable suppliers that I can find.

Plant dyes lend a beautiful, subtle glow to fabrics that come alive in natural light. It really is a great joy to work with these colours and I love discovering and adding new hues all the time.

Please bear in mind that while I have tried very hard to photograph and describe my ribbons and colours as accurately as possible, colours do vary from one computer monitor to the next as well, I have found, as individuals' perceptions of colour.

Although I use recipes developed through working with natural dyes for years for each of my range of colours, each batch will vary slightly and some will have marbling derived from the process, making your ribbons a unique little piece of art.

I source all of my raw materials from suppliers and stores that have sustainable business and environmental policies. This is important to me; I want to prove that it's possible to thrive as a business selling high quality, luxury products without doing undue damage to the planet; I'd like to leave it a better and more beautiful place because I was in it.

My company motto is "Infused with Love" and we approach every aspect of our work with that in mind.

Shipping
Nettle now has a studio in Whitstable, on the Kent coast in England AND one in Portland, Oregon. This means that orders ship from two locations:

* Ribbon orders to the US and Canada ship from Portland, Oregon, within 3-5 days

* Ribbon orders to the UK, Ireland, Europe and the rest of the world ship from Whitstable, within 3-5 days

* Special orders, table linens and styling fabric ship from England. Occasionally, as in the case where more stock is needed to be ordered in order for a large request to be filled, this may take a little longer. We'll discuss that when organizing a special or large order.

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm here to help! I respond to messages as quickly as possible but on exceptionally busy days it may take me a few hours to get back to you.
...

Delivery cannot be guaranteed by a certain date unless you'd like to purchase extra shipping to cover next day delivery. If that is the case, please contact me and I can set that up for you.

Some international orders may be subject to import taxes or customs, which I cannot control. These are determined by your country's government and may be collected by the shipping courier at the time of delivery. Your local postal authority will have more information about customs fees, duties and taxes specific to your location.

Occasionally customs inspections in your country may slow the delivery of your order. We have no control over this and are not responsible for any such hold ups.

Orders around UK are sent 'signature required' which I have found is the most cost effective way to make sure they don't wander off.

Expedited shipping is available for an additional cost. Please contact me if you'd like to add that on.
Additional policies and FAQs
Alternative widths and shades of colour are almost always available. Just ask!

Wholesale:
Since my textiles are made by hand in small batches, in order to ensure the high quality and attention to detail for which my customers are looking, it's not possible to make them to a scale that would facilitate wholesale prices.

A modest discount, however, is available on orders over 100 yards.
