Last updated: October 14, 2026
1. Who We Are
The controller of your personal data is ADWIMB sp. z o.o., Bysina 208, 32-400 Myślenice, Poland, registered in the Polish National Court Register (KRS) under number 0001115222, EU VAT number PL6812106861.
You can contact us through Etsy Messages at the PlaceIn3D shop or by email at hello@placein3d.com.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you purchase from our Etsy shop or contact us.
Etsy independently processes certain personal data under its own privacy policy.
2. What Personal Data We Collect
When you place an order or contact us, we may receive:
- Order information: your name, shipping address, email address, phone number (if provided), purchased products, order value, and personalization details.
- Design information: the unique design code associated with your personalized 3D model, including the selected geographical area, colors, and design settings created on placein3d.com.
- Communication: messages and information you provide through Etsy Messages or email.
- Transaction information: order and payment confirmation details provided by Etsy. We do not receive or store your full payment card or bank account details.
Your selected geographical area may include a residential address or another personally meaningful location. Where this information can identify an individual, we treat it as personal data.
3. Why We Process Your Data
We process your personal data for the following purposes and legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Order fulfillment: to produce, personalize, package, ship, and provide support for your order (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR – performance of a contract).
- Legal obligations: to comply with applicable accounting, tax, and consumer protection requirements (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR – legal obligation).
- Customer communication: to respond to inquiries about our products, orders, or potential purchases (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where necessary to take steps before entering into or performing a contract, or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in responding to customer inquiries, as applicable).
- Legal claims and security: to prevent fraud, protect our services, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interests).
We do not sell your personal data, send unsolicited marketing emails, or use your order information for advertising outside Etsy.
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
4. How Our Design Tool Works
To create your personalized 3D model, you visit placein3d.com, select a location, customize your design, and receive a unique design code.
You enter this code when placing your Etsy order so we can identify and produce your chosen model.
Design information, including the selected map area, colors, settings, and the associated design code, is stored on our servers.
Designs are automatically deleted from our design system 90 days after the last modification and removed from backup copies within a further 30 days. Where a design is used to place an order, only the design parameters needed to produce the model and handle product-related claims (such as the map area, colors and settings) are kept with the order records for two years after delivery, which is the period of the seller's legal liability for lack of conformity of goods, and longer only while a claim or dispute concerning that order is pending. Production files generated from them are deleted 30 days after dispatch.
Our website has a separate Privacy Policy explaining how personal data is processed when using the design tool, including technical information such as IP addresses. You can read it at: https://placein3d.com/privacy.html
5. Who We Share Your Data With
We share personal data only when necessary to operate our business, fulfill orders, or comply with legal obligations.
Recipients may include:
- Etsy: for order management, payments, and communication.
- Shipping providers: delivery companies such as InPost, DPD, DHL, or GLS, and shipping-label services used to arrange delivery.
- Accounting services: our accounting provider for bookkeeping, invoicing, and tax compliance.
- Hosting and IT providers: Hetzner Online GmbH for hosting design data in Germany and Google for email services.
- Public authorities and professional advisers: where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We share only the information reasonably necessary for each purpose.
6. International Data Transfers
Our own design hosting infrastructure is located in Germany, within the European Economic Area (EEA).
Some service providers, including Etsy and Google, may process personal data outside the EEA, including in the United States.
Where international transfers take place, they are subject to applicable GDPR requirements and appropriate transfer mechanisms, such as an applicable adequacy decision, including the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified recipients, or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
You may contact us for further information about applicable transfer safeguards.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
- Design data: automatically deleted from our design system 90 days after the last modification and removed from backup copies within a further 30 days. For ordered designs, only the design parameters needed to produce the model and handle product-related claims are kept with the order records for two years after delivery (the period of the seller's legal liability for lack of conformity of goods), and longer only while a claim or dispute concerning that order is pending; production files are deleted 30 days after dispatch.
- Accounting and tax records: retained for the periods required under Polish law, generally five years from the end of the calendar year in which the relevant tax payment deadline expired, unless a different legal retention period applies.
- Order information and communications: kept until your order and any related request are fully handled, and then for two years after delivery (the period of the seller's legal liability for lack of conformity of goods). We keep them longer only where needed to meet a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, and only until that need ends.
When personal data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it, unless further retention is legally required.
8. Your Rights Under GDPR
Depending on the circumstances, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data and request a copy.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your personal data.
- Request restriction of processing.
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Request data portability where applicable.
Some rights may be limited where we are legally required to retain certain information, such as accounting and tax records.
To exercise your rights, contact us through Etsy Messages or at hello@placein3d.com.
We will respond without undue delay and generally within one month, as required by GDPR.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Poland, the competent authority is:

You may also contact the competent supervisory authority in the EU country where you live, work, or where an alleged infringement occurred.
9. Providing Your Personal Data
Providing the information necessary to process and deliver your order, including your delivery details and design code, is required to fulfill your purchase.
Without this information, we may be unable to produce or deliver your personalized 3D model.
Providing optional information is voluntary.
