About

One-man shop, endless possibility.

I spent many years being a professional Scenic Designer, Lighting Designer, and Technical Director for live theatre--7 of which I was also a Professor of Theatrical Design & Production. Much of that was incredibly fun and rewarding; however, I eventually found I needed a change. Enter Plaid Elephant Props.

Plaid Elephant is a completely self-funded, one-man shop. I do this because I love it. I love tabletop gaming. And, I enjoy helping other people enhance their experiences with my terrain, painted miniatures, props, and any other custom item(s) you can think of!

I spent many years designing/making items out of steel, aluminum, wood, foam, and plastics, and then painting those items to look like something they were not--wood painted to look like marble, plastics painted to look like steel beams, etc.

Throughout that time, I also continued to play ttrpgs and used my unique skill-set to build 3D terrains and scatter terrain pieces for my sessions. Having those items made a HUGE difference in the immersion of the sessions. Shortly thereafter I started painting my own minis instead of buying pre-painted figures. I wanted customization. I wanted things that were not available.

I started making EVERYTHING, including my own minis.

This shop sells the items I have already completed, but it is also a FULL-SERVICE Custom Shop for you. Let me know what you need and I will make it for you. Some of my clients use the items for gaming, some for display, some for décor, some for CosPlay purposes... Your piece. Your choice.

Contact me today and let's work together to make your imagination come to life!

    Owner, (Everything)

I've been making things since I was a child--props, puppets, theatrical scenery, FX Makeup, and more! I love to tell stories via objects, and I LOVE playing tabletop games. If it is made of wood, metal, foam, plastic, or fabric....I can make it.
