My name is Vikki and I am Latina small business owner. I started Playa Paper with the mission of keeping letter writing, sending invitations, and mailing cards alive. I receive most of my creative inspirations from living by the beach, so I named my business Playa Paper because "Playa" means beach in Spanish.
Our story started in Los Angeles by the beach where we opened Playa Paper in our tiny one bedroom apartment in Redondo Beach. Today, we are based in sunny and beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida.
I make cute and clever greeting cards and elegant and bold invitations that are custom designed and printed in my home studio. There are several things that make my greeting cards and invitations special. First, each one of my greeting cards is personalized with the name of the recipient on the back of the card. This customized extra touch is something that the receiver will surely notice when he or she flips the card over. Second, each one of my greeting cards and invitations is individually handcrafted with a gem and a dash of glitter for a vibrant accent. Third, each one of my greeting cards and invitations includes the option to buy U.S. postage stamps that are carefully selected to match the colors and designs of your custom order. This will save you a trip to the post office! The stamps that I use to match the colors and designs of your order come from my large vintage and modern pop culture stamp collection that I have collected over many years. (Yes, I’m a stamp nerd!) Fourth, all of my paper products are individually printed on high quality paper with long-lasting archival digital inks in my home studio, so customers are supporting a local, proudly Made in America small business and your paper product will last a lifetime. Fifth, all Playa Paper products include matching colored envelopes and round envelope seals for a stylish and bold touch. Lastly, I make hard to find, original cards in new categories (e.g., pet adoptiversary, dog cards, cat cards, pet sympathy cards) and for niche consumers (e.g., couples in interfaith relationships, gay couples, and Spanish cards).
