Announcement   A collection of wax seal jewelry lovingly handcrafted in Canada from my much treasured collection of antique wax seals that date as far back as medieval times.

I hand craft each and every piece of my wax seal jewelry line in my studio on Canada's beautiful east coast. Wax seals to me are impressions of another time, each a miniature work of art in its own right with its own intrinsic meaning and symbolism. I love to make jewelry using these fascinating designs and giving them a new lease of life, celebrating the amazing artists of the Georgian and Victorian eras, whose fine craftsmanship help make my work possible.

Seals can be traced back to our earliest civilizations with signets being worn in ancient Egypt. My personal seal collection ranges as far back as medieval times. While most of my seals come from Britain and France, I have some that hail from Bulgaria, Hungary, Russia, Germany, Italy and many other places.

If you have any questions about my wax seal jewellery or any of my lines, please do not hesitate to ask.

Not a great photo. So much nicer than the image. Surprising amount of detail in a small piece. I love it.

About

I collect things, and make stuff....sometimes people buy what I sell.

About Plum and Posey – and Me.
My name is Adrinna Hardy and I’m the founder of Plum and Posey.
I was born hungry for adventure. As soon as I was able, I boarded a plane that took me from my native Canada to Europe, where I stayed for a decade, eager for every experience life could throw at me.
Somewhere along the way, I developed an unquenchable thirst for art and history. I contentedly spent my days in the great museums, galleries and antique markets that were around virtually every corner. It was on such an outing that I came across my first wax seals. Drawn to their symbolism and meaning, I quickly realized that each seal was also a miniature work of art in its own right.
This love affair birthed a collection of many thousands of rare and antique seals that I now proudly display in my studio in Nova Scotia on Canada’s idyllic east coast.
Sometime afterward, while traveling in Northern Thailand on a whim, I took the opportunity to train with a master goldsmith. Putting aside the language barrier, I learned through demonstration and repetition, the basics of a skill I have endeavored to master ever since.
It was at the intersection of these two passions – collecting wax seals and goldsmithing – that I believe I found my life’s work, and the inspiration to found Plum and Posey.
Plum and Posey offers jewelry incorporating casts of original wax seals from my treasured collection. It celebrates the exceptional craftsmanship of the past and the deep and complex meanings of the seals, while incorporating themes such as hope, courage, strength and inspiration, amongst many others.
Collectors of Plum and Posey form strong emotional attachments to their jewels, and while I enjoy the praise I have received for my creations, I’m quick to credit the amazing artists of the Georgian and Victorian eras, whose fine craftsmanship help make my work possible.
Plum and Posey is carried in shops, boutiques and galleries in Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand.

Antiqued Finish & Jewelry Care

Our antiqued finish is applied in small batches, and our designs are given a final hand-polish before shipping. This may result in variations of the shades of our antiquing (oxidization) from one piece to the next; this is part of the beauty of handcrafted and not considered to be a quality issue.

We recommend the following:

*Do NOT use silver dip cleaners, only use jewelers cloths for giving a new shine to your piece. Dips will strip the finish, and could damage the silver.

*Don't sleep with your jewelry on, this can result in broken or damaged chains etc.

*Swimming/Sports - Take all jewelry off for these activities, chemicals in pools or rough activity can break or ruin your jewelry
