Our Story: How Two Siblings Solved the Case of the Missing Gloves
Hi there! We’re Marc and Amy, a brother-sister duo and proud parents who understand the chaos that comes with wintertime. Like many parents, we’ve spent countless mornings searching for gloves that seemed to vanish into thin air. Between our kids’ busy school days, outdoor adventures, and the occasional glove being left behind at a park or playground, we were always buying replacements. It became a running joke – we couldn’t keep gloves in pairs if our lives depended on it!
But one particularly cold winter, we decided to do something about it.
The idea came during a family gathering when we were sharing stories about the many gloves we’d lost over the years. We joked, “Wouldn’t it be nice if the gloves could just stay with the hat?” And then it hit us – why not create a hat that actually could keep gloves safe? That’s when the Pockhat was born: a cozy winter knit hat with a soft, hidden pocket on the inside to store gloves.
It was the perfect solution to a problem we’d been facing for years. The more we thought about it, the more we realized we weren’t the only ones who could use something like this. Every parent we knew had a similar story about lost gloves, and we knew we could help solve it for them, too.
We started small, sketching out designs and sewing prototypes by hand. We tested them on our kids (who were happy to be our “official Pockhat testers”), refining the fit and making sure the pocket was functional yet discreet. Once we perfected the design, we decided to share it with other families through our Etsy shop.
Every Pockhat is made with love and designed to simplify winter for busy parents and kids alike. We’re so proud of how far we’ve come, and we’re thrilled to know that our little invention is helping families stay warm, organized, and stress-free during the cold months.
