Made with math, code, and a 3d printer

I’ve been making jewelry and programming a computer since high school. It wasn’t until we got our first 3D printer a few years ago that I put the two together. I love thinking about geometric shapes to put into earring designs and I enjoy wearing a different pair of earrings each day. We have over 100 different filament colors.

About 3d printing: 3D printing is an additive manufacturing process. Non-toxic PLA filament is fed into the print nozzle where it is melted and laid down in fine (.1 mm) layers, building the form from the print-bed layer by layer. Computer code controls how the print-bed moves (x-axis), the print head moves (y-axis), and, after each layer, the print head moves up (z-axis).
