Announcement   Fun, attention-getting jewelry and accessories with a geeky twist.

Join me as I explore the intersection of art and science. The design lab is a place where I experiment artistically and play with all kinds of influences, from historical photos to cellular models or electronic circuitry.

Want more info on what I'm making and why? Check out my blog at www.polymathdesignlab.com/weblog/. You can also follow my far more frequently updated twitter account @spiralshannon.

Interested in learning more about sewing with electronics? I host a biweekly eTextile and wearable electronics worksession in Portland, and am available to teach classes and workshops in your town. See polymathdesignlab.com for more.

Holy moly! This is even cooler in person! I can't stop playing with it. So clever, well made and well designed. Amazing!

Thank you for visiting Polymath Design Lab!

I’m Shannon Henry, the polymath behind the lab. (By the way, the word polymath doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with arithmetic… it means “one who is learned in many subjects,” and I chose it because my work is driven largely by my curiosity and love of learning.) I enjoy finding unexpected connections, and combining elements of art and craft, science, design, technology, historical imagery, and anything else that strikes my fancy, and sharing my creations with you!

Interested in what’s going on around the lab, and what I’ve been working on recently? Check out my blog at http:// polymathdesignlab.com/blog.

Payment
As I am located in Oregon, there is no sales tax on any of my items. Hooray!

I accept Paypal payments for all orders. I also offer an alternative credit card processor which does not require accounts for payment. If you'd like to pay with a credit card through the alternative processor, please select 'Other' as your method of payment, and in the Note to Seller provide me with the email address where you'd like me to send your invoice.

I request payment for all orders within 3 days of placing the order, as is standard on Etsy. If you find that you will be unable to meet this, please contact me as soon as possible to cancel the order or make alternate arrangements.

Cancellations: If you decide that you need to cancel an order please contact me as soon as possible, and no later than 3 days after placing the order. If the order has not shipped yet, you will be refunded the full amount of your order, including shipping costs. If the order has already shipped I will request that you refuse delivery or return it, and will issue a refund of the price less shipping fees upon receipt of the item(s) in return.

Non-payment without a cancellation request will be reported to Etsy and negative feedback will be left.
Shipping
Your order will ship within 4 days from the day the order is paid. If you provide an e-check, it will ship within 4 days from the day the e-check clears.

I use Paypal for shipping purposes. Please be sure to add a note in "Notes to Seller" if this item is NOT going to your verified Paypal address or the address provided on your order.

For jewelry and other small items, I ship using USPS first class parcel or first class international. If you need your order to ship faster please mention it in the “Notes to seller” and tell me which USPS or UPS shipping service you would prefer. I will send an updated invoice based on the calculated difference in postage.

In the Portland metro area? If you are interested, I’m happy to arrange for an in-person pick up of your purchase – just let me know through the “Notes to Seller” field, or via Conversation. Postage costs will be refunded if you pick up your item in person.

**GIFT PACKAGING**
My jewelry comes packaged attractively, with drawstring pouches for small items and tissue-paper wrapping for all items. Kits and Spirosketch sets come boxed or in poly bags as shown in the individual listings.

If you are purchasing a gift to be shipped directly to the recipient, please let me know in "Notes to Seller" and I will be happy to enclose a note for you. I will also further wrap your item(s) if you would like. Please just contact me, and I'll be happy to work with you.
Refunds and Exchanges
I stand behind my work, and want you to be happy with your purchase. If you are not pleased for any reason, I ask that you let me know within 2 weeks of receiving your order so that we can make prompt arrangements for a refund or exchange.

On all refunds or exchanges, I will refund the item cost or send out the new item once I receive the original purchase back. Postage costs are not refunded.
Additional policies and FAQs
See something that you like, but it still isn't exactly right? Or have an idea that you think I could help you bring to life? I'm always open to new ideas and projects, and enjoy the challenge and collaborative nature of custom work. Send me a convo if you are interested!
